When Azikiwe Reported On Lagos Vs Onitsha Football Match In 1940. (photo) by spearman(m): 1:55pm On Oct 03, 2023 |
In 1940… There was a football match between two high schools in Yorubaland and the East…. St Greogery’s college of Lagos and Christ the King College of Onitsha…. Onitsha won the match…. Zik could not hide his tribal ethnocentrism… He turned a football match into a conquest mission…. What he imagined and wished was the fate of Yorubaland… he imagined it in the football match. He mentioned first class Obas in Yorubaland… including the Oni of Ife… imagined football players as conquering soldiers…. Called the journey an ‘INVASION’ This is the man his propagandist children call a true nationalist….. He wished football players were soldiers and kingdoms of Yorubaland were invaded by his kinsmen….. 10 years after this… He would attempt a political invasion…. The sage Obafemi Awolowo checkmated….. Imagine the shame you would have today as a Yoruba man if the first premier of Western region was Zik…. Imagine what a people who claim they developed Lagos would do to taunt you if they were able to take power from the British and recolonize you. Zik's DNA still lives in his sons… They are desperate to complete what their fathers could not…. They will never be fulfilled until they overrun Yorubaland… It has everything they wished for and do not have…. A Large coastline…. Industrial estates…. Commercial cities…. fertile lands…. The people pretending to you that the desperation to force Obingo on the whole country is about good governance are deceiving you. They are super obsessed to overrun you in your space and this has been since the 1940’s when their father Zik indoctrinated them about politically invading Yorubaland…. The writing was on the wall with the Obidient movement, what they did to Yoruba people in LP, Gbadebo conspiracy in Lagos and LP from top top bottom propaganda to smuggle sons of Zik into elected positions in Yoruband. This is an agelong obsession still unfolding in our time They do not come as football players in our time… they come in night busses and bathroom slippers…. Do not be deceived by the Obidient movement… All Yoruba people… isolate the fascists mob…. Stay away from GBAJUES….. adun lo ma gbeyin ewuro fun awa omo ogo adulawo…. Ire oooo Gbonka Ebiri 6 Likes 2 Shares

If Nigeria is a country where citizens 'expose' other citizens for being happy when hometown wins a football game, why are we confused at to why nothing works? What level of hatred would lead someone to expose another person for preferring his hometown in a football game? LOL Zik really wasted his time beliving in their nonsense of a zoo 6 Likes 1 Share |

T9ksy: Zik wanted to be a Nigerian instead of a Biafran. He wanted to be a Nigeria President too. He was among the people that killed Biafra even before conception... The Biafra they are now struggling to get while they can't also be president of Nigeria. He sacrificed the freedom of his people for personal ambition. A nationalist indeed!!! 9 Likes |

yommen: Yes, Zik was an Igbo nationalist. Igbo is Zik's only nationality. You can only be a nationalist if a nation exist. Nigeria is a country not a nation. Nigeria can never meet the criteria for nationhood, language, culture, religion. A commonality of at least 2 of the 3 must be present for the attainment of nationhood. Zik was fooling himself, 8 Likes 2 Shares |

mrvitalis:The poster put up strong evidence! Your Zik was actually very tribalist. He was pained that western leaders didn’t allow him become the western premier. Tribalism was also among the reason that made him not to agree with Baba Awo regarding secession clause! A very tribalist, greedy & Gbajue man that wanted to harvest another region for the betterment of his own region! 24 Likes 3 Shares |

Among the ncnc were yorubas. Oged Macau ley was Herbert Macaulays son. Oged was ncnc national sec. Herbert Macaulay was the founder of ncnc and its first national leader. Azikiwe took over as leader after macaulays death. Growing up, Azikiwe lived with an aunt from his fathers side in the north who was married to a sierra leonean muslim. In fact, he eventually became inlaws with herbert macaulay, as his niece was married into macaulays family. Azikiwe is today denounced in igboland for being a nationalist and not being supportive of ojukwus war. 2 Likes |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrNGHehpGhU Azikiwe defended Ironsi take over in a BBC interview by saying that power had been abdicated to him by members of the Tafa Belewa cabinet. Lamba "Nationalist" Azikiwe (Ibo), handed over ceremonial presidency to Nwafor Orizu (ibo) and 33 MPs (Ibo), who were the ones who signed the abdication letter ceding power to Ironsi (Ibo) following an Ifeajuna (Ibo) led coup. Azikiwe (Ibo), Nwafor Orizu (ibo), 33 MPs (Ibo), Ironsi (Ibo), Ifeajuna (Ibo), Coincidences? I don't think so. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

I’m Igbo and I wish Zik was a tribalist. I hate his legacy for his nationalistic stance and not putting his tribe before his country . Regarding the match comments referenced, This is very mischievous. People all over the world back in the 40s, 50s , 60s were very outspoken then . Infact the way politicians spoke back then , if they tried it now, they would be cancelled, vilified and ostracized. Back then it wasn’t inappropriate to publicly refer to a gay man as a gay , or to speak towards women in a condescending manner . There were a lot of things that were acceptable then. Y’all need to educate yourself and understand the context of the era. That Yoruba Muslim that posted that tweet is a tribalistc bigot, a cheap attention whor.e ![]() 1 Like |

I don't expect anyone to waste his/her time creating threads about Igbos again on this forum, except if it's to massage their ego. In all my years on this forum and other Social media platforms, not a single time have they ever accept anyone of them was wrong on anything, they have been right about every single thing since 1914. From Zik, to Ojukwu to Nzeogwu to Nzeribe, to Kanu to Obi, none of their leaders were ever wrong, none. 1 Like |

mrvitalis:Zik was a tribalist 100% complicit in the Ibo coup of 1966 and so many tribalist actions during the first republic e.g. Robustly supporting an Igbo man who had been found to forge Dsc degree from Canada to gain high position at University of Ibadan.UI Zik appointed him as his personal doctor and later sent him back to UI as a member of the governing council. Exactly the same thing that Ogbonnaya Onu did years later a t FIIRO with another Job man with fake PhD There are countless examples of Zoo's hypocrisy, nepotism and tribalien another is when he tried to force a man from Aba Elugwaraonu on the good people of Port Harcourt as their legislator candidate for NCNC The Ikwerre revolted and fielded an independent candidate Wonodi who disgraced the Aba man Ikwerre resentment for Ibos was largely due to many of his actions 1 Like |
