The announcement of Nigerian rapper Oladips being alive by his friends and colleagues has sent shockwaves through social media. The initial news of the musician’s reported demise deeply saddened the Nigerian music industry and his fans, with many hoping it was just a rumor. The unexpected revelation surrounding the Lalakukulala singer’s current status has brought a sense of relief and optimism to the entertainment scene. Nigerians find themselves in disbelief as claims from close associates contradict the earlier statement by Oladips’ managers, who declared his death on Tuesday, November 14, revealing that he had been battling personal struggles for nearly two years. The resounding declaration that “Oladips is alive” has added a new twist to the unfolding events.

A fellow singer and Oladip’s colleague, Qudus Fakoya Oluwadamilare, popularly known as Q-Dot, has dispelled the earlier reports of his colleague Oladip’s demise. Q-Dot took to his Instagram on Thursday to reveal that Oladips is still very much alive. The revelation comes after a video circulated online, causing concern among fans as it depicted Oladips collapsing. Q-Dot’s Instagram post, featuring a picture of Oladips, simply stated, “My gee is alive.”

Clearly, the death announcement was a strategy to promote Oladip's new album, titled Superhero Adugbo: The Memoir.
