God is love. (1 John 3 vs 8 ).
God loves you with His heart. (John 3 vs 16)
It is why He sent His only begotten son to die for you.
It doesn't matter what you're facing, He's always there to help. Cast your burdens on Him. (Matt 11:28-30)
Give Him your heart.
Give Him your heart.
Serve Him. Serve Him. Serve Him with all your heart.
Jesus loves you.
He saves.
Amen.

Always pay attention to context.
14 Moses lifted up the snake in the desert. It is the same with the Son of Man. He must be lifted up too.
15 Then everyone who believes in him can have eternal life.”
16 Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life.
17 God sent his Son into the world. He did not send him to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him. - John 3 vs 14 - 17
That "Whosoever" or "Everyone" applies to the people of Israel who are condemned by God in much the same way that God condemned some of the same in the desert and then lifted a bronze snake to save them with. Jesus Christ, in the conversation He had with Nicodemus, likened Himself to that bronze snake that God lifted in the desert to save many of those among the people of Israel whom He, God, condemned to die of Israel. undecided

nope. 14 is symbolistic of 15. 14 is telling what happens in 15 using symbol. Jesus Christ came to fulfill the law but this time to the whole world. 14 is only explaining what happens in 15. It's metaphorical, and not literal.
Meanwhile it's surprising that you don't understand simple things as that. The world has moved on from differentiating between the law and the new convenant. Oh well.

Did you read the passage at all but what you cobbled up there makes no sense when put up against the details contained in the passage?

oga, ask someone else I'm sure they'd be shocked you're even asking a question as this. "Just as Moses...Jesus", it's making a comparison and not being literal. It's simple English. If you're not satisfied, then ✌🏿.

It's obvious that Jesus Christ was comparing Himself to the Bronze snake that was raised in the desert by God for the Israelites. He said "in the same way" that the snake had to be raised to save those of Israel who were condemned by God, so also, He too would be raised on a stick to save those condemned by God of Israel.

listen, if I say I like how you wear your shoes, and I'm going to wear mine like that. When I go home to try it out, I'm not going to wear your shoes; I'll wear mine. Look at it as someone who reads the Bible explaining it to someone who doesn't as much. I'm just trying to make you see reason. If you aren't cool with it, I can't help beyond this.

where did you read, cos it's not Isaiah 7:45 (which doesn't exist in scripture). Atleast get the passage right.
Re: God Is Love by ReacherSaidNoth: 8:16am On Dec 03, 2023
I don't think you Christians know what love is. The Israeli deity, Yahweh, is the complete opposite of love. He is petty, vindictive, bloodthirsty, narcissistic, jealous, wicked and he also happens to take pride in creating evil.

do you know what a metaphor is? Do you even know what a figure of speech is? If you do know what these mean, kindly define them for me.

Above, Jesus Christ said "It is the same with the Son of Man", metaphorically speaking, He is a bronze Snake on a pole to be lifted for the salvation of the people of Israel. undecided

"It is the same with the Son of Man" implies that it is for the same purpose that He too will be lifted. It is for the same people that He will be lifted... So, tell me, what part of what is stated, do not not agree with in this? undecided

OK
A metaphor is a figure of speech that describes an object or action in a way that isn’t literally true, but helps explain an idea or make a comparison.

Here are the basics:
▢ A metaphor states that one thing is another thing
▢ It equates those two things not because they actually are the same, but for the sake of comparison or symbolism
▢ If you take a metaphor literally, it will probably sound very strange (are there actually any sheep, black or otherwise, in your family?)
▢ Metaphors are used in poetry, literature, and anytime someone wants to add some color to their language
Now, back to the conversation...
Above, Jesus Christ said "It is the same with the Son of Man", metaphorically speaking, He is a bronze Snake on a pole to be lifted for the salvation of the people of Israel. undecided

Jesus Christ is not a bronze snake, nor does it imply that all one has to do is look up at Jesus Christ hanging on a tree to be saved as was the case with the bronze snake in the desert. This is because the terms of salvation as stated by Jesus Christ are different from those presented by Moses to the people back then. (Moses told the people they would not die if they looked up at the snake, but Jesus Christ offered the people Eternal life in place of death.) undecided

"It is the same with the Son of Man" implies that it is for the same purpose that He too will be lifted. It is for the same people that He will be lifted... So, tell me, what part of what is stated, do you not agree with in this? undecided

Isaiah 45:7
so it's really simple. Psalm 92:15 says "To shew that the Lord is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him."(KJV). Simply put, God has no business with unrighteousness as he's a God that is known to love righteousness and hate iniquity. The whole Bible is about this above statement. So, "evil", what did that scripture mean, since evil is relative to unrighteousness?
First thing you need to understand is 'context'. Especially while studying the old testanment, you'll need a whole lot of it as many things there can and must not be taken literally to be applied as Christians today.
The context therefore; if you read that passage well, God says He makes peace and creates evil. God in the passage and from the beginning of the chapter is self-eulogizing and letting the listener(s) know his capacity, capability.and possibilities. "Evil" in the context is a necessary evil for the evil. In mathematics, negative eliminates negative to create a positive. God is saying I create peace for good people and I also create evil for the evil people. Like it is shown in the scriptures, how he fought against evil people like Pharoah, Jezebel, Ahab, Herod and co.
God creates evil only against those who are evil.
If you attack people with evil plans against you or your loved ones, then you're just like God, you're creating evil against the evil.
Simple?

If you read the whole if that chapter, you are told that it is only God that exists...There is no one else like him. He is the source of everything..both good and evil, light and darkness. That's why it is called a UNIVerse

There is no such being as devil or Satan...in the christian sense.

All power belongs to God.
Power to kill
Power to save
Power to destroy
Power to create...

Any power you can think of....they all belong to God....
