MEET OLOWOFELA, THE KIDNAPPERS CHAIRMAN

Olowofela, an octogenarian, is based in Igbara Odo, Ekiti State with a chain of business enterprise cutting across the state, including a sawmill in Irele, the axis where the nefarious activities of the abductors is most pronounced..

He was arrested by a combine team of security apparatus from Kwara State, who stormed, Ijowa Ekiti, in Ajoni Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and dispatch a team to effect his arrest from his Igbara Odo abode.

It was joy mixed with shock when Olowofela was brought to Ijowa by the detached team in cuffs as villagers expressed surprise that he could be linked with the dreaded activities that have formed the nightmare of the people overtime.

It was gathered that Olowofela and his gang are responsible for the recent killings of the Elesun of Esun Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsakin, the Olumojo of Imojo Ekiti, Oba Samuel Olatunde Olusola and the Olukoro of Ikoro, Kwara State, Oba Olusegun Aremu-Cole.

Fresh facts have emerged that the killers of the Olukoro of Koro in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, Oba Olusegun Aremu-Cole, perfected the murder plot in a pub, popularly called beer parlour, in the town.

Some people were born to live and die as fools.

This story has NOTHING to do with the Ekiti State kidnappings and killings of traditional rulers and school pupils.

It is not even about Ekiti State but about Ekiti Local Government in Kwara State which is an Emirate state.

Some people will rather allow ignorance and stupidity to kill them rather than learn the truth.

ObiCertificate:

You all must be really disappointed that the kidnap kingpin the led the kidnap and killings of the Yoruba Obas among many others is not Fulani after all the blackmail and false accusations.

Everybody knows this.
We will beleive it when other news tabloid or tv carries the news with real time video.
But wait!
Papers have reported this news initially but where did this IPOB paper get this Olowofela?
Even some tv reported it.
Why are these people like this for God's sake.
What is their gain with this fake news?

And some people had erroneously being pointing fingers at the innocent FULANIs up north. They always aspire for enemity between the YORUBAs and the NORTHERNERS. Kudos to the Yoruba who are always patient and calculative as nothing good can be achieved with rash decision borne out of emotions but regret.

If not because he was caught, they would still be suspecting Fulani herders as the culprit. How many Fulani has the Amotekun caught now kidnapping in Yoruba land.

No tribe has the monopoly of crime, our problem in this country is that we don't punish crime and criminality the way it should.

Our politicians today have proven to be more callous than this kidnapers or bandits or whatever you may call them

Gainman:
mumu. Despite he did the wrong thing.did u see any yorubas here supporting him like d way you ibos used to do when an ibo commit crime. Iand as a Yoruba man he is, did u see him committing d crime in d south east or in d north? Unlike your tribe that commit crime in all regions in Nigeria. If ten criminals is arrested in d north, 4 among them will comes from your tribe. If crime is also committed in the south west, 5 or all will come from d east. You no get shame.

A tribe where elders indulge in crime is gone.
An octogerian indulging in criminality ? This society is finished

You are right, I hate it when some people provide alibi for Yoruba criminals by pointing accusing fingers on Fulanis.
When a crime is committed in the east, the yorubas will taunt lgbos for killing themselves but if the same crime is committed in the west, the Igbos instead of towing the same line in a reciprocal manner will begin to accuse the Fulanis of killing Yorubas and thereby creating additional enemity to themselves and making it look as if Yorubas are saints who don't commit crime against one another.

I think it is high time lgbos leave Fulanis out of what is going on in south west

https://nationalinsightnews.com/ekiti-our-high-chief-is-not-a-criminal-igbaraodo-community-defends-80-years-old-pa-oyebanji-olowofela/

The family of pa Chief Philip Oyebanji Olowofela has said the octogenarian knows nothing about the kidnapping or killing of three monarchs in Ekiti and Kwara States.

Pa Olowofela was linked with kidnapping syndicate that purportedly killed the Royal Father’s last week and was arrested by soldiers as shown in a viral video.

In a statement by Dr Mobolaji Ojibara, Solicitor to the Olowofela Family absorbed pa Olowofela of any complicity in the case.

“The family steadfastly stand by his integrity, character, and unwavering commitment to upholding the law. Chief Olowofela has dedicated his life to serving his community, advocating for peace, and fostering harmony among its people. His pedigree and track record speak volumes about his unwavering stance in promoting the rule of law and denouncing all forms of violence.”

PRESS STATEMENT FROM THE FAMILY OF CHIEF PHILIP OYEBANJI OLOWOFELA

CLARIFICATION ON ALLEGATIONS AGAINST CHIEF PHILIP OYEBANJI OLOWOFELA

DATE: FEBRUARY 9, 2024

The immediate and extended family of Chief Philip Oyebanji Olowofela, the Asamo of Igbara Odo, in Ekiti South West Local Government Area of Ekiti State, is deeply concerned about the ongoing media trial of Chief Philip Oyebanji Olowofela regarding allegations of his supposed involvement in kidnapping cases of killings across Ekiti and Kwara States. The family feels compelled to address recent accusations regarding his alleged connection to the regrettable incidents surrounding the deaths of the Ọba of Koro in Kwara State and the two traditional rulers in Ekiti State. We pray for the repose of the souls of the Obas and that God will comfort their respective families and people.

As responsible members of the society and devoted family of Chief Philip Oyebanji Olowofela, the family maintains Chief Philip Oyebanji Olowofela’s innocence in these matters and unequivocally declares that Chief Olowofela has been wrongfully accused and unjustly implicated in these tragic events. It is emphatically stated that Chief Philip Oyebanji Olowofela was not involved, aware of, or complicit in any manner whatsoever in any kidnapping or killing incident.

The family steadfastly stand by his integrity, character, and unwavering commitment to upholding the law. Chief Olowofela has dedicated his life to serving his community, advocating for peace, and fostering harmony among its people. His pedigree and track record speak volumes about his unwavering stance in promoting the rule of law and denouncing all forms of violence.

While noting the importance of the investigation being carried out by the Nigerian Police Force and acknowledging the commitment of the law enforcement agency in keeping the country safe and uncovering the facts with a view to bringing the real perpetrators of the alleged heinous crimes to justice, the family, as a group of law-abiding citizens, pledges its full cooperation with the authorities and urges anyone with useful information to approach the police and assist in the investigation.

The family expresses profound concern over the spread of incendiary, baseless and insensitive statements circulating on social media platforms concerning Chief Olowofela and the incidents in question. Whilst the family acknowledges the curiosity and apprehension of the public concerning these incidences, we urge everyone to exercise caution and abstain from disseminating inflammatory comments or unsubstantiated allegations. The impact of misinformation and malicious reporting on the family members has been devastating; causing emotional trauma and profound destabilization that is difficult for the family to comprehend. Furthermore, the disparagement of the Patriarch of the Olowofela Family, the Asamo of Igbara-Odo, on social media without any official statement from the Nigerian Police Force can only undermine the integrity of the ongoing investigation and exacerbate unwarranted tension, while also unfairly exposing the family to unimaginable risks and repercussions.

Members of the public engaging in deliberate media trial of this matter with the intent of disparaging and tarnishing the reputation of the octogenarian are hereby advised to cease immediately. We urge them to retract all unfounded and incriminating messages or images they may have disseminated in any form or manner and to refrain from any further intrusion into Chief Olowofela’s privacy and that of his family members. The Olowofela Family is prepared to take any necessary measures within the ambit of the law to safeguard the Patriarch of Olowofela Family’s integrity and the legacy he has diligently cultivated over the years.

The Family is deeply grateful for the continuous support, encouragement, comforting words, affirmations, understanding, and prayers extended to them by friends, relatives, associates, and the broader community. The outpouring of love and reassurance has significantly alleviated the family’s pain and distress during this challenging period. Whilst the Family humbly requests that you continue to pray for the swift, complete vindication of their Father, they maintain its steadfast confidence that Chief Philip Oyebanji Olowofela will be exonerated of all allegations, restoring his reputation without any blemish of wrongdoing.

In conclusion, while praying for expedited conclusion of the investigations, and recognising that due legal process and police investigations must be allowed to proceed without prejudice or bias, the public is implored to verify every information regarding this matter before disseminating same and to abstain from participating in speculative discussions that could escalate the situation. Let us maintain the principles of fairness, justice, and respect for due process.

Thank you

DR MOBOLAJI OJIBARA
Solicitor to the Olowofela Family of Igbara Odo Ekiti
