Starlink, the internet service company owned by Elon Reeve Musk, has dropped the price of its hardware in Nigeria by 45%.

Starlink internet router, sold at ₦800,000 as of 9 April, is now ₦440,000 as at 10 April 2024. Monthly subscription for the internet service remains the same at ₦38,000 per month.

A price increase in March due to the earlier drop in value of the naira saw the price at ₦800,000.

Though Starlink did not give any reason for the 45% decrease in price, the recent appreciation of the naira against the US dollar and other foreign currencies is probably the reason.
