This is a motivation for every hustle out there. The pay day will surely come.Just keep grinding in your work of choosing.I wasn't born with a silver spoon but I never looked down on myself. I've been a hard worker right from when I was a kid and now at age 20, I have a place to call my own.

I have done menial jobs from clearing farms for people, going on errands and fetching firewood.I did all these while squatting with friends. They fed me because I washed their clothes and kept the place tidy.In this life, you always have to prove your usefulness to people so that they in turn can help you.

In the course of doing my menial jobs, I met a man who linked me with a fuel attendant job late last year.I was able to save up and secure my house.

Always believe in yourself.

Next thing is to save up and apply for my ND.

It can only get better from here.
Thank you lord.

See your Versace bedsheet and iro and baba wey you hang grin

My advice to you, save up money and learn a skill . You can enroll into school later , you can use 2 years to learn a skill .if you are in Lagos,I would have offered you free Interior designing skill like drywall installation and repairs . As you are just starting life focus on hustling and leave Gf issues.keep on with the hard work.

No need bad mouthing him or make him feel bad, what may look common to you, might be gold to another.

Congratulations OP a journey of 100 miles starts with a single step, now strive on to make that place an even more better abode. Keep up the hard work okay?

You might want to think about this going back to school after saving up before you embark on this journey.
One, school is now expensive unlike before. You don't want to start with your little saving and not be able to finish it once your saving runs dry.
Two. Ask OND, HND and Degree holders in Nigeria, most of us chased after few jobs and many of us ended up not using the certificates to work. Even majority of those who are using it to work, their salary is nothing to write home about most especially under this Tinubu's administration.
Thirdly. Don't throw away this job for OND but for better job. You can apply for part time education or open university and continue working so that you don't learn the hard way after making avoidable mistake.
Four. You can consider skill acquisition too, that's the direction everyone is facing now, even graduates.

Re: How I Landed My House After Squatting by Magnumproperty: 2:56pm On May 19
Since you are still young, you can apply for part time ND program. Because no matter how much you save now, you will definitely exhaust it if you go for full time program.

Forget school for now! Go learn artisans jobs like electrical and electronics, solar installings, plumbing, welding, Generator and motorcycle mechanics, automobile mechanic, printing, fashion designing, brickwork , computer programming and software engineering.

Going to schools to get a job to become rich only happen in nollywood movies. Reality say otherwise. Unless maybe if you connection.

Find your passion and start learning, before long you don become Oga receiving contracts.
Good luck!

I quoted him and gave same advice. I won't call school a scam but it is no more the only way to get a job and live well.
Education now in Nigeria has become expensive for people who are from struggling families and it is not a guarantee for a well paying jobs.
For people who can afford education, it is good. For someone struggling, it is better to acquire one or two skills first. When you are comfortable enough, you can continue your education.
I would recommend plumbing. That work is relatively easier and pays well. The person should be selling those low cost plumbing materials too. Those that cost between N100 and not above 2k for a start. There is a lot of profits on them. He can expand later to selling more items and costly ones when he has money

Nigerians now feel entitled to success because they look up to looters waiting for Baba to pick up their call.

If you do not appreciate little things in life, when you are blessed with bigger things, you see it as a curse. You will be unhappy no matter how much you get like your looters.

Life is a process... Work on the process. You're doing well. Some of us started like this

I squatted with five other guys in a room after my NYSC. But, today, the story is different

Just trust and follow the process. Never leave God!
