Its an idiomatic expression - wouldn't be easy for you to understand. That is why we ask everyone to please stay in school. US is good and yet US citizens travel and move out of the US. That moving is tantamount to the state of the country is why you are where you are. We draw causations and associations. BurnaBoy is over there buying cars I never dream of. You can speak success into your life...OR japa too. Did I stop you or your family?

pls how many days is 25years that you feel people should not complain and desire for a better life as Nigerians?

Without fear of contradiction, I can proudly say that democracy hasn't worked in Nigeria. Unfortunately, there's no better alternative!
Democracy can only work when the people make it work. It is not a magical tool. Democracy hasn't worked for Nigeria because Nigerians have refused to play their part well for it to work. undecided

How many very smart people entered into the Military? Most smart people chose to be Engineers, Accountants, Doctors...growing up, you will hardly hear anyone saying I want to be a soldier...so of course we have what we have...but the point still remains, who born who to touch the soldiers during the Military regime. Even Journalists will post stories and relocate lol. Dem born you to stay in the same office and discuss human rights lol. All these SERAP...I just laugh. See how much Abacha stole...who said pimm...being alive was the ultimate goal then haha.

I was in secondary school SS2 precisely I participated actively in the elections I actually voted three times at three different polling units where I registered. The local government elections came first and witnessed massive turnout because everybody knew the contestants which was why I voted multiple times.
The presidential election came last without any turnout yet with high result figures due to ballot box stuffing.
After that electoral cycle I decided never to bother myself with Nigeria elections anymore because the people votes don't count at a point during the run up to 2023 generation elections I was beginning to doubt my stance but 2023 elections turned out to be the worst since 1999 worse than 2003 (Moris Iwu's INEC).
Mahmoud Yakubu didn't do well in this election and the Judiciary has lost it entirely.

In 1999, I was quite young, just entering my teen years. Reflecting on the past 25 years of democracy in Nigeria, it's evident that while there have been strides forward, challenges remain. It's crucial to address the discrepancies between the aspirations of that time and the reality today, striving for a democracy that truly serves and uplifts all Nigerians.

and part of the subject of literature where you got "idiomatic expression" from, there is also a word known as "sarcasm". am surprised that since you stayed in school, you have no idea what "sarcasm" is even when you see it.

my questions still remain which you have failed to answer.

1. how many years was Rome built?

2. is 25years and a day the same thing?

3. pls how many days is 25years that you feel people should not complain and desire for a better life as Nigerians?

4. I didnt ask you about Burna Boy. if Nigeria was so good, what are YOU doing in the US?

Twenty Five years of unbroken democracy, how has Nigerians fared?

I remember all the events that preceded May 29, 1999. There was excitement everywhere that at last the military was exiting the political stage in the annals of our history but today a lot of people will tell you that things are not in any way better, especially in these last few years!

The question is, Where were you and how old were you in 1999?

Is this the democracy you hoped for?

Are we there yet?

I honestly don’t care. Naija spoil since. Our curse was being ruled by illiterates to begin with. The educated ones who started after independence were too ethnic-minded to rule the nation properly.

That's #30 meal for a school boy? Lol. You're a very big lair. I could remember, during that time our parent will always gives us #5 if we did not eat before leaving home in the morning, out of that #5, we will eat morning food and break time food and still have enough money to buy babadudu or lebute or icekongi on our way home in the afternoon.
