I think there is problem with the way we pray and the things we ask from God. Many Christians today focus their prayers on seeking material blessings from God which is not a sin neither is it bad, but making that a priority is what makes it bad.

When God asked Solomon to make a request of him, Solomon did not ask for wealth but at the end, God blessed Solomon with wealth soo much that to this day, no individual has been able to brake that record.

God told Solomon, since you did not ask for wealth nor the head of your enemies, I will give you what you asked for and also give you wealth that no man can withstand.

So you see why it is better to focus on a relationship with God rather than material things?

Jesus Christ said, " seek ye first the kingdom of God and it's righteousness and every other thing will be added unto thee".....which means, you are required to focus on the Kingdom of God, God knows your needs and he will add it to your request not untill you fill his ears with your material needs.

A lot of people have been disappointed with God, some have even left the faith because God did not grant their request to make them rich, which is something they been made to believe it will happen when they worship God by those criminal minded pastors (prosperity preachers). But the fault is never on God but on the one we came with a wrong approach .

You have to first of all become a child of God, crate a relationship with him before you can hold him responsible for the things he fails to do for you. When you crate that relationship with God, you will understand how he works, so even if he did not grant a request you made unto him, you will understand why and keep moving knowing fully well that the main focus is on God's kingdom and not the kingdom of this world.
