crisubanijunior: No sire, it's the other way round. It's the FHC that has jurisdiction to entertain such suit. Take a look at the orders of the court court emanating from the State High Court, holden at Degema. The first order holds that the court (SHC) lacks jurisdiction. This was corroborated by the AG Rivers State. 2 Likes

ZIAZI: Yes, that particular state high court in Degema does not have jurisdiction because another state high court had declared an interim injunction which only a higher court like the appeal court can vacate. |

You further shot yourself on the leg, bringing this suit to bear. That suit was struck out by the Buguma Court, because the Buguma Court clearly acknowledged that it does not have the Jurisdiction to entertain such matter. Mind you, the Buguma Court is not the State High Court. the Buguma Court as it where only had powers to adjudicate on matters that concerned the Local Government wherein it is situated. So also, the Abuja Court would lack the power to treat matters within Rivers State, eventhough i can agree that they have same powers, being that they are Courts of Coordinate Jurisdictions. 1 Like |

Confirmedzombie:Is Fubara also an IPOB member? When you're a confirmed zombie, you comment without applying common sense. All this your chest beating start and end on Nairaland and cannot light a candle, let alone trigger a gun. Mr. Man, the Nigerian constitution is against these people and no Jupiter can reinstate them. Take that to bank. Nigeria is never a banana republic. Rivers state cannot operate a mini law on LGA tenure out of the 36 states plus FCT. It would be awkward and senseless to say the least. Mr. Man, at this junction I wish you could apply common sense. 3 Likes |

ozo13:Have you stayed in Rivers?? are you from Rivers? If No, then you lack knowledge of the local politics. Initially, you guys hailed Wike to high heavens that he will impeach Fubara without stress, but Fubara came out stronger. You know why?.... Even Tinubu know scores there, that's why after the first peace deal that failed, e commot hand. I repeat, people when de Fubara back are those strong men that made Wike brave while governing. 2 Likes |

BondRiv:After the court had nullified the self law made by the 27 recalcitrant lawmakers. The law they made wasn't in consonant with the constitution. The constitution of Nigeria recognizes 3 years as tenure of LGA chairman. Any law not in consonant with that is null and void and the lower court had already voided that. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.vanguardngr.com/2024/05/breaking-court-voids-tenure-extension-for-rivers-lga-chairmen/&ved=2ahUKEwj_2sS-ztuGAxUcUUEAHc99C7AQFnoECBEQBQ&usg=AOvVaw3S8a7zYI0RQDDg5M_OWAPw Except for your digest: "A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has voided the tenure extension for local government chairmen in the state. This was as the court declared Local Government Law No. 2 of 2024, which extended the tenure of local government chairmen by 6 months after expiration of their tenure, invalid". Nigeria is not a banana republic. No state law can handicap the Nigerian law. Please get that into your skull. Even if they appeal it, they will still meet their Waterloo till supreme court because the Nigerian constitution will still be superior to their self made law. 1 Like |

kcmichael: If not out of stupidity and Foolishness... Why would a sane man fight an incumbent with hope of winning. Gov. SIM Fubara is just lienents and calm with them. If I were to be the Governor, by now only God knows what would have happened to them. Since they have decided to side The Abuja .Jonzin and drunk master, let them all relocate to Abuja and join the land grabbers. Rivers State has only one Chief and that Person is SIM Fubara. Wike and those Noisemakers (Lawmakers) should hide their faces in shame and leave Rivers. 3 Likes |
