JOBS RECRUITMENT (Media)

A media company is recruiting qualified staffs for a new Radio Station located in Ota, a cosmopolitan city within the precincts of Lagos and Ogun State.
The following vacancies are available to be filled by suitable applicants:

1. News Producer & Editor
Job Requirements/Description:
• Possess academic qualification (BA/HND) in Mass Communication/Journalism/English/Other relevant disciplines.
• Has a minimum of 7 years post-qualification work experience with reputable broadcast organizations.
• Has mastery of English language in written and spoken forms.
• Possess high capacity to edit and proofread materials.
• Must have expansive intuition for news-sourcing and compliance with extant editorial guidelines for accuracy, fairness and objectivity in news production, editing and transmission.
• Must be computer literate and ICT-compliant for the purpose of news-gathering (local and foreign).
• Ability to write scripts, produce documentaries and features.
• Maintain efficient fact-checking system and knowledgeable in the demands of the regulatory authorities.
• Must be diligent, responsible and deliver on all assigned duties.
• Applicant must be below 45 years.
2. Reporter
Job Requirements/Description:
• Possess academic qualification (BA/HND) in Mass Communication/Journalism/English/Other relevant disciplines.
• Has a minimum of 5 years post-qualification practical experience with reputable broadcast organizations.

• Retain mastery of English language in written form, eloquent and equipped with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A nose for news and sharp intuition for current affairs and news- worthy events in cities, towns and neighbourhoods.
• Must be computer literate and ICT-compliant for the purpose of news gathering, editing and reporting.
• A microphone-worthy voice will be added advantage.
• Must be diligent, responsible and deliver on all assigned duties.
• Applicant must be below 35 years.

3[b]. Sound Producer & Editor[/b]
Job Requirements/Description:
• A BA/HND and minimum Diploma certificate is desirable but must possess relevant technical training in sound production and editing.
• Has a minimum of 5 years practical experience with reputable broadcast organizations.
• Ability to operate live and recording studio facilities, digital audio sources, editing software and balance audio feeds/outputs.
• Assist content producers, OAPs and guests to achieve technical control for flawless presentations.
• Source and store music from diverse sources and coupled with ability to produce jingles, station-idents, hypes and track-up for news insert.
• Should be able to communicate fluently in English, Pidgin and Yoruba languages.
• Conversant with broadcast regulations laws on decency of language in music and copyright infringement.
• Must be diligent, responsible and deliver on all assigned duties.
• Applicant must be below 35 years.

4. OAP (English)
Job Description:
• Possess requisite academic qualifications (BA/B.Sc./HND) in Mass Communication/English Language /Communication Studies/Linguistic and Other relevant disciplines with broadcasting bias.
• Evidence of training in phonetic or presentation course at recognized training institutes.
• Has a minimum 5 years post-qualification experience as a presenter with established electronic media organizations.
• Must have the mastery of English language in written form, eloquent and equipped with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possession of clean voice, devoid of speech defects, for purpose of reading news – will be added advantage.
• Evidence of hosting radio programmes, talk/music shows; conducting interviews for guests and artists.
• Research and script for programmes to be presented and content for shows including selection of music and topics. These are added to being computer literate and console management proficiency.
• Must be creative, innovative and witty in presentation and ability to sustain audience attention in English and pidgin languages.
• Conversant and updated with current affairs and goings-on in the social media space – such as music, movies, sports and celebrity lifestyles and developments.
• Must be acquainted with broadcast laws, demands of regulatory authorities and other media-related bodies.
• Must be diligent, responsible and deliver on all assigned duties.
• Applicant must be below 35 years

5. OAP (Yoruba)
Job Requirements/Description:
• Possess academic qualification (BA/B.Sc./HND in Mass Communication/Yoruba Language/Yoruba Linguistics/Yoruba Literature/Other related discipline.
• Evidence of training in Yoruba phonetics or presentation course at recognized training institutes.
• Has a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience as a presenter with established electronic media organizations.
• Must have the mastery of Yoruba language in written form, eloquent and equipped with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possession of clean voice, devoid of speech defects, for purpose of reading news in Yoruba language – will be added advantage.
• Evidence of hosting radio programmes, chitchat shows, conducting interviews for guests and artists.
• Excellent translation of News bulletins in English into Yoruba.
• Ability to script in Yoruba for programmes to be presented and content for shows including selection of music and topics. These are added to being computer literate and console management proficiency.
• Must be creative in running ceremonial commentaries and entertaining listeners in Yoruba language.
• Conversant and updated with current affairs and goings-on in the social media space – such as music, movies, sports and celebrity lifestyles and developments.
• Must be acquainted with broadcast laws, demands of regulatory authorities and other media-related bodies.
• Must be diligent, responsible and deliver on all assigned duties.
• Applicant must be below 45 years.

6. Utilities Technician
Job Description:
• Possess ND/Diploma/Technical Certification in mechanical and electrical works.
• Ensure that all power infrastructure functions properly.
• Work with the supervision of the facility manager to curate scheduled maintenance of equipment and machineries.
• Power and maintain the transmitter for effective running all day round and other daily routine operation.
• Responsible for the maintenance, repair and installation of utilities systems such as water, sewer, electric, cooling systems, furniture and broadcast equipment.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Serve as utilities advisor to provide input to projects; especially in the areas of equipment design, parts/material selection, risk analysis, documentation, testing and maintenance requirement.
• Should be ready to work under minimal supervision and pressure.
• Experience with a Radio or TV organization is added advantage.
• Ability to speak fluent English and Yoruba is required.
• Applicant must be below 40 years.

7. Social Media Manager
Job Description:
• Possess a BSc/BA/HND/ND/Diploma Certificate in media and ICT related field is desirable but must possess relevant technical training in New Media management.
• Has a minimum of 3 years post-qualification or/and certification experience with an organization or proven freelancing.
• Familiar with studio facilities, digital audio and video sources.
• Supervise coverage of programmes in the live studio for listeners to watch and follow real-time on social media handles.

• Initiate digital marketing strategies for station’s page management, listener’s engagement and conversion of followers.
• Assist content producers, OAPs and guests to link and manage their handles for flawless digital experience.
• Graphics designing and content creation expertise are added advantages.
• Should be creative, innovative and able to communicate fluently in English, Pidgin and Yoruba languages.
• Conversant with broadcasting codes, social media regulation laws, copyright issues and IPTV matters.
• Must be diligent, responsible and deliver on all assigned duties.
• Applicant must be below 35 years.

8. Marketing Executive
Job Description:
• Possess a BSc/BA/HND in Marketing/Business Administration and Other related disciplines.
• APCON and related certifications and professional training.
• Has a minimum of 7 years post-qualification work experience as sales or marketing officer with reputable organizations; preferably broadcast media.
• Decent command of English language in written and spoken forms.
• Exceptional sales, customer engagement, negotiation and offer management skills.
• Ability to communicate fluently in Pidgin and Yoruba languages is added advantage.
• Must be acquainted with brands, advertisers and agencies.
• Computer literate with good use of excel software and report making skills.
• Conversant with demands and regulatory frameworks within the marketing and advertising practices.

• Must be diligent, responsible and deliver on all assigned duties and targets.
• Applicant must be below 40 years.

9. Advert Traffic Officer
Job Description:
• Possess BA/HND/Diploma in Marketing/Business Administration and/or any other related field.
• Has a minimum of 5 years post-qualification work experience as sales or marketing officer with reputable organizations; preferably broadcast media.
• Decent command of English language in written and spoken forms.
• Excellent knowledge of advert scheduling, collation, monitoring and reporting skills.
• Have bird’s eye view on implementation of multiple deadlines for adverts and campaigns.
• Must communicate fluently in Pidgin and Yoruba languages combined with good interpersonal skills.
• Proactive and skilled in commercial material processing and dissemination of instructions.
• Conversant with demands and regulatory frameworks within the marketing and advertising practices.
• Must be diligent, responsible and deliver on all assigned duties.
• Applicant must be below 35 years.
