While I strongly condemn the illegal manner Philip Shaibu was removed, he's one of the few visible deputy governors in Nigeria because Obaseki gave him free hand in the first place, most people don't even know the name of the deputy governor in their state.

You also have to consider the fact that a senator does not have an executive power so they probably can't get anything done on their own, they are however very powerful as an institution but the ones in Nigeria are puppet to the executive president, the last real ones were the 8th Senate under Saraki.
