Dubai – At least 41 refugees are feared dead after their boat capsized off Yemen’s coast on Wednesday night, the United Nations refugee agency reported on Thursday. Only four survivors have been found. The overcrowded vessel sank due to severe weather conditions, according to the UNHCR. The agency is working with the International Organization for Migration to provide aid and protection to the survivors. The latest tragedy underscores the perilous journey migrants undertake in hopes of reaching safer shores. In a similar incident last month, 49 migrants lost their lives and 140 went missing after their boat capsized near the Yemeni coast. The UN estimates that nearly 100,000 migrants arrived in Yemen from the Horn of Africa last year alone. The IOM has recorded over 1,800 migrant deaths and disappearances along this deadly route since 2014. https://theafricadailypost.com/316835/migration/dozens-killed-in-yemen-shipwreck/
