If the federal government through Tinubu will make anti corruption agencies to work independently, these governors can not go unchecked.

Imagine the whole security apparatus of Nigeria claiming to find an ex governor including his own police detail.

True, governors are protected from prosecution but how about EFCC actually face their job and investigate the governors and pass their findings to the state assemblies who can then vote on impeachment.

The president gave an order that foodstuff be exempted from custom tariff and until now nothing. Has anyone been prosecuted as a result or fired? They are all appointed by Tinubu. So make it make sense

The buck stops at the federal government full stop. Fix the head and every other part will fall in line

You’ve hit the nail on the head! While the #EndBadGovernance movement is crucial, focusing solely on the federal government without addressing the failures at the state level overlooks a significant part of the problem. The staggering amounts allocated to states like Lagos, Delta, and Akwa Ibom raise serious questions about where the money is going and why citizens aren't seeing improvements.

State governors and local officials need to be held accountable just as much as the federal government. These funds should be transforming our communities with better roads, schools, and hospitals, but instead, we're seeing a lot of mismanagement and corruption.

If we're serious about change, our focus needs to expand beyond just the presidency. It's time to demand transparency and accountability at every level of government. Let’s make sure the conversation includes all leaders who have a role in shaping our nation’s future.

Join the discussion and let’s push for a more comprehensive approach to governance reform. It's about holding every leader accountable, from the top down. Together, we can make a difference!

Who controls the macro-economic policy? Was it State governors that removed the subsidy on petrol nor float the naira?

The cost of living crisis was precipitated obsensibly by the removal of fuel subsidy and the floating of the naira. And these two policy are exclusively within the purview of the Federal Government.

Some persons are just wanting to shift the blame on the sub-national. Even we that are working, the economic situation is taking an adverse effect on us. We can barely save money for the raining day owing primary to the astronomical food inflation.

The multiplier effect of the failed macro-economic policy is what is taking a toll on Nigerians at present. At this point in time, I expect the Federal government to evolve austerity measure. Rather the Federal government bought a new Presidential jet and also is operating with 45 ministers.

When some people talk like the OP who posted this rubbish, i feel like flogging them. Yes the allocations increased, but inflation has made them almost nothing. If you convert the allocations to dollars at the current exchange rate and compare them with allocations in this same period in 2022, you will see that their allocations actually reduced.
What Tinubu did was the polly magic of devaluation of the Naira which he called unification of the exchange rate. That move created the illusion that allocations had increased and Tinubu conveniently ignored the double digit inflation that rose up as a casualty of the unification policy.
Yes governors are thieves and need to be held accountable, but Tinubu should own up to the mistakes of his administration and stop looking for whom to pass the buck on to.

No clear separation of power and check and balances. In Nigeria, overwhelming power is surged to the central govt alone that's why overwhelming blames he'll receive.

If the central govt made a policy (eg the fuel increase case), and the state had power to veto it, it's a different case. Also, many governors are acting like microphones...some don't even know what the concurrent list says and that they can actually veto some things on the legislative list. They aren't interested in the people but themselves alone.

Exactly I’ll hold Sim responsible because he removed subsidy and later reintroduced it from the backyard still yet fuel isn’t coming down

I’ll hold Sim accountable for increasing import duties and closing boarders not to allow food prices come down

I’ll hold Sim responsible because he promised to handle economy while Shettima handles security

I’ll hold Sim accountable because he floated naira and took dollar from 700 to 1900

When the FG is done dancing around they'll grow sense.

Folks who have insisted on running a central system are telling us to go and hold governors accountable..
