When did it skip you that alot of men will tell this women to keep it,promise to come see their people. The man family will celebrate,give the baby name,call her my wife,call the baby "our baby".
The current trend now,is women hesitating to fill birth certificate and passport details using the man surname for their kids until he does the needful. My colleague that was to come join me years ago,has this issue.
The man family threw a lavish naming ceremony, everything,he was supportive,a great dad and all.aunty went to do documents even against my advice (you can't advise a woman in love).

Four years later,he has not done the needful. His finances are dope. Facing hell at naija immigration to change the details on the passport,oga will not give his consent,as a traditional Igbo man that believes the states is corrupting children and the child will turn to gay,insisting the girl grows up till 16 and learn African values before japaing.

At least, he is in Nigeria or his assets are (am I correct here). If it were to be in the west, I can understand even though there are laws which don't care if the parties are married or not.

Because there aren't judgment on men for it. Let's assume society treated this men half as bad as they treat their female counterparts on this issue,swear men were be cautious. If a 56 year old professional impregnates a 16 year old orphan,men will hold the 16 year old " accountable for her actions" and society will never forgive her. Well,the man in question,he was manipulated, she deliberately tried to get pregnant for him,it's her duty to say no,this and that. And child support will be at his choice and discretion. If you dare protest,well you are bitter .

she wants to Japa.the baby must go with her. Aunty wants to move ahead on with life but uncle fears the child will be taking away from his family,a new culture,new life. Men can be that selfish though. Some women can not be let go off,even though they are deemed not worth committing to.At some point she was living with their family . Her parents had to drag her out,to prevent see finish from someone that didn't pay her bride price. Uncle stopped sending upkeep in retaliation. Aunty parents said he should go to hell with his upkeep,they will take care of her and their grandchild( thanks to having supportive parents).

Now is just to erase any trace of him,start afresh and package herself in the states as a nurse. Let me see any ediot that will sham her as bitter for depriving him access to the child
