The 1k you reserved for your self should not be part of your debt.
That's where you got it all wrong
If you paid back 2k to mom and dad,you still owed them 98k

You borrowed 50k from your Mum and dad each.
Total debt = 100k
Breakdown of your expenses:
Laptop: 97k
Loan repayment: 2k (1k each to your mum and dad)
Personal expenses: 1k
Total: 100k

If you subtract the 2k loan repayment from the 100k borrowed you have 98k debt left (97k for the laptop + 1k you spent = 98k) which corresponds to 49k each for your mum and dad.

Adding the 1k you spent is wrong because you never borrowed yourself any money so you can't classify it as loan repayment. It is an expense.

Dad and mom spent #48.5k(97/2) in buying the laptop.

So, if you give them #1k from the remaining 3k it means you will be owing them #49.5k each( ie 1k + 48.5).This sums up to #99k(ie 49.5+49.5).

Therefore, the remaining 1k is the one you reserved for yourself. So, no money disappeared to nowhere 😁

So, in a nutshell, 49.5k(from mom) +49.5k(from dad)+ 1k(reserved) =100k
