You don't seem to understand what is going on. Edo state is under BEDC which as a distribution company rejects electricity from the Gencos. The candidate is actually right, if he provides transformers and poles likewise the aluminium conductor cables, BEDC will be able to distribute electricity more efficiently.

My only disagreement with this arrangement is the fact that BEDC is a private company and why should the government provide infrastructure which they ought to have provided.

By submission this shows the Apc candidate is actually very close to the people for him to have know this basic and simple fact.

No I think you missed the question. The question was how would he ensure 247 power in Edo as promised?
We know you have to generate first before distributing. How many MW is Edo state generating? That’s the first call. You generate a lot you will distribute a lot.
Re: Monday Okpebholo's Interview With BBC That Got Aisha Yesufu Laughing (Video) by IfnobeGod20: 5:52pm On Sep 07
DeOTR:

I guess we now have an alternative to transformers and poles in the business of power distribution?
If you're half as clever as you want us to believe you would know the last leg of power distribution is equally as important as the first leg.
If you had any bit of an idea about our power problem, maybe you would have known that even the little power we generated isn't being 100% utilized.
If your brain is not rusty, you should known that many communities have been in darkness for years because of transformers and poles or do you think Governors build power plants when they talk about electrification?
I'm sure you don't have light right now because your transformer is overpowered.
We've been enjoying 23hours of power supply on the monthly average since the beginning of this year and all we had to do was to buy more transformers, share the loads and link new buildings, but this idiot thinks transformer is not important in the scheme of things.
Your goofy ass should ask people who knows why 30% of the little power we generate is not being utilized.
I will help the guy viqSmallz to reply to this your gibberish.
Now follow me to this short journey.
There are three stages in power or electricity production.
1. Generation
2. Transmission and
3. Distribution
The most difficult and problematic of all the three stages is number 2, TRANSMISSION.
You know why? Because volume of kilowatt of electricity is loss on the way. You can generate 100kw of power but able to transmit just 15 to 20kw. Do you also know that the 15 to 20kw transmitted will also not get to the final consumers because of energy loss during distribution and other environmental factors.
Government are generating a lot of energy but transmission has been a lot of problem that will face as a nation. Hence, for any government to give and ensure 24hrs electricity supply:
1. It Must generate a lot of energy, kw
2. It must ensure effective transmission of the energy for conservation.
In a nutshell, distribution is the least problem of provision of 24hrs electricity to the people because if you don't generate and transmit enough, what would you distribute?
You people must know the question asked. How to give 24hrs electricity to the people? Transformer and poles would not give 24hrs electricity to the people if there is no enough energy generated and transmitted.
That APC governorship candidate scores owned goal.
Re: Monday Okpebholo's Interview With BBC That Got Aisha Yesufu Laughing (Video) by lagosrd: 5:59pm On Sep 07
Poor soul. Thean should have made research and an indepth analysis of how many kilowatts Edo state is currently consuming and how much are the industrial
Government facilities
And private homes are consuming.

This will give him a pointer to have said he will add more to the supply from the Gencosbto the discos. He should have a mindset of setting up an independent power station that at least can supply house holds and leave the others to the Gencos to supply. This will only compliment the supply from the Gencos and increase productivity. Create jobs , improve standard of living.

He could have mentioned wind energy, solar and water . Mini grida and micro grids. That can service places that suits a particular source of energy generations.

All these while wey I dey laugh your incompetent Obaseki,I thought you will proof me wrong by posting pictures of Obaseki's projects in Edo. You had to cover your face in shame. Cause you also know that Obaseki is a failure and Asue will be worst. grin grin

I am not from Edo and I have not been there before but I got this news from THISDAY newspaper online. This news is all about naysayers like you who have been carrying about that Godwin Obaseki did nothing in Edo. It was written 4 months ago to counter the lies peddled about.
Here below is an excerpt from the news on the road project that Governor Godwin Obaseki had completed or still on going. I live the way the section the rebuttal by naming senatorial by senatorial road project completed and ongoing in each zones.
Below is the excerpt:

"Let’s refresh their memories with a list of some of Governor Obaseki’s avalanche of projects. The Benin-Abraka Road is a 88km road project abandoned by the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). The Edo State Government has awarded 40.5km out of the 88km and work has reached an advanced stage. This road is a strategic road that leads to Orhionmwon Local Government Area which plays host to the largest oil palm project in Africa as well as gas and crude oil fields.

Construction of the Ekehuan-Ugbiyokho Road project is ongoing and on completion, the road will be very significant as it leads to Gelegele which is the closest point to the Benin Port Project. The state government is deploying concrete technology in the construction of low-line areas of the road project.

To date, the state government has completed the construction of 565 roads, covering a total distance of 737.37 kilometres. Among the notable projects is the construction of the PZ-Ehioghae-Okabere-Oka Market Road, which links Sapele Road and Upper Sakponba; the Irhirhi-Aruogba-Obazagbon-Ogheghe Road; Ugbor-Amagba Road; St. Saviour Road; Benin-Abraka Road with spurs; the dualization of the TV and Ehaekpen Road, and rehabilitation of failed sections on various roads.

Other roads in Edo South include Temboga, Mechanic Road, Forestry, Omomo Street, 19th Street & environ, Ekehuan Road, Agbonkina Street, Uwelu Road, Owina – Evbuotubu Road, Okpagha – Amufi Road, Ikpako-Ajoki Road, Okundia, Omo-Ojide, Osamudiamen Street in 2nd Ugbor, Gapiona and environs, rehabilitation of failed portions of Siluko-Iguadolor-Ogbesse from Iguadolor, Evbiemwen, Planwell Road.

In Edo North, the state government completed the construction of the Afokpella-Ogriga-Okugbe Road with Awuyemi Spur, as well as the rehabilitation of the Secretariat Road in Igarra and several internal roads like Sobe-Sanbongida-Ora Road, Ikiran – Oke – Ikakumoh Road, rehabilitation of Akhigbe Street, Afuze Secretariat Road, Ugboha Road and others.

In Edo Central, the state government has constructed 56 roads, while about nine roads are still under construction. Among the notable roads constructed in the Edo Central Senatorial zone include the Ekpoma-Iruekpen Road and the Idumebo-Ihumudumu Royal Market Road, Ugboha Road. The construction of Otor Idumozar and Oseghale Market Road, tehabilitation of failed sections on critical roads comprising Uwenlodia Road, Ekpoma; Momodu/Olele Roads Irrua and F. O. Momoh Road, Ewu.

Others include Idunwele – Eguare Road, Ewu; G2 Road, Ekpoma; Iyare Road, Ekpoma; Iruekpen roundabout, Iruekpen; SK Foam Road, Ekpoma and Omokhodion Road, Ekpoma. There is also Isiebhelua Street, Ekpoma; Osebor Road, Ekpoma; Dova Road, Ekpoma and Aburimen Road, Ekpoma"

If truly you're from Edo and you're versatile enough, kindly disprove this news with concrete evidence rather than normal rhetoric that you people are used to to malign and shame those you don't like in politics.
Not everyone like show when they complete projects, which suppose to be. The amount expended in commissioning some project can as well complete another mini project but some governors keep a low key commissioning of project after delivery. May be because of that you don't know many of these projects executed by the governor.

Many of them arguing don't really know anything about energy production, especially electricity. They thought after generation is straight to transformer, they don't know the bigger issue is in between.
Again, their lack of understanding of the question asked posed difficulty for them and that is why they argue blindly and myopically.

I understand you but you don't seem to understand me. I agree with you that you need to generate a lot for you to distribute a lot. You see with BEDC this is not the case.

Let's take Lagos as a case study. Before the introduction of band A tariff, electricity distribution was a problem but the IKEDC improved it's distribution infrastructure. Now, almost everywhere unders IKEDC is on band A and having at least 21hrs a day if not 24hrs. In fact my place at magodo had light 2 weeks without interruption, same with my workplace at Gowon estate, iyana paja.

Can this be said about BEDC? I'm from Ondo state which is under BEDC. There is no city, town, settlement or street on band A. You know why? Distribution infrastructure is very poor or not available in some places. I think same goes with Edo state and some parts of Delta state.

I don't doubt there might be distribution issues, but what we currently generate as a country will not be enough even if distributed without waste. That's why the first solution to electricity is to generate more. In every production process there must be wastage but how do you counter that you minimise it and produce more.
Ikedc probably had high paying tariff customers than bedc so definitely they will.be considered first

You are not from Edo and you have never been there but you dey follow me wey dey stay Benin dey argue. Let me suprise you since you just confessed that you have never been to Edo

What you saw on Thisday newspaper is a paid advert. It was not written by the news paper. It was written by Obaseki's media men and they paid Thisday newspaper to publish it.

Haven said that, let me tell you this. None of what they wrote there is true. Let me use the first project they claimed on that newspaper. They claimed Obaseki has constructed Benin Abraka Road. That one na the biggest lie. What Obaseki did was that, he mobilized contractor to the site since 2018. The contractor removed the old tared Road with the aim that, they will reconstruct the Road. Since then, they have abandoned the Road.

Presently, that Road is the den of Kidnappers, Armed Rubbers etc. This is due to the bad road. Obaseki awarded the contract but never paid the contractor. The case is the same with other projects mentioned on the news papper.

After 8 years, Obaseki does not have any single project that has been completed. Is that how the Governor in the State you presently live does his work?
Now,let me give you this assignment, go back and do another research. Show me pictures of Obaseki's completed projects.

Ideally, Obaseki is supposed to use the projects he did in Edo to campaign for his godson. But there is none. In 2016 when Obaseki was campaigning for his election. Oshiomole commissioned over 50 massive projects. He used those projects to campaign for Obaseki. He invited the then President Buhari to Edo severally, to commission projects during that campaign period.

But today, Obaseki is paying people to come and propagate lies online rather than to show us what he did in the last 8 years since we voted him in 2016. Let me remind you. I was Obaseki's strong supporter in the past. I voted for him in 2016 and 2020, Now I am forced to campaign against him cause he ended up as the worst Governor in Nigeria. He made Yahaya Bello look like an Angel. All Edo people also feel the way I felt.

I guarantee you this, in as much as we hate APC, we will rather vote then or LP, NNPP, SDP, APGA instead of voting Obaseki's stooge.

I challenge you now, post pictures of the projects Obaseki did in Edo State since you sabi do research.

This man don't talk about electricity again you don't know anything about it. It's not a must you comment please.
Those places on Band A are those under 33kv which have more higher voltage than the 11kv. That you're enjoying over 20hrs per day light means the line you're section with is 33kv station. If your residence is on 11kv, no matter the improved in the distribution gadgets can give you over 20hrs per day electricity. Those with 33kv line means their substations are able to store more voltage as transmitted.
Trying to justify the error of the man by been clever by half will only gel those with no knowledge of electricity production. The man wasn't prepared at all and you that is trying to justify his error, no nothing on it too.

Good luck to you but the last time I checked, you're not the spokesman to Edo electorates. How you were able to know the mindset of the good people of Edo, that they are going to vote against Obaseki as his stooge, still baffles me to the bone marrow.
Meanwhile, please is Edo not in Nigeria again and also is Nairaland not an interactive forum? And I do hope you don't poke your nose on another state when it matters must? As from today I will be monitoring your moniker, anytime I read your comment on another state, you will be in for a long ride. I hate hypocritical people.
