Hello Nigerians, this is actually the first time I witnessed such a thing.
So, during the church service, the wife refused the say "I do"
Omor it wasn't funny, the groom was trying to cajole her at first but baba begin dey raise voice ooh na so pastor caution the guy to shut up. Her bridesmaids and her people begged her shaa but madam refused, instead she started crying.
There wasn't anything official shaa but word on people's mouth is that the supposed groom dey beat and maltreat the girl....
I was actually surprised the way pastor handled the whole situation, he acted like a father would and was really supportive, people rallied round the girl...omor it ain't easy to come out to say "I am a victim" but she did it. Kudos to her and kudos to Pastor, na man you be.
The thing turn sermon for women to speak up instead of going into abusive marriages, you may not come out alive...
Nigerians really tried oooh we still love one another even in this situation, omor see support shaa...
Anyways I didn't go to any reception again, we ended up having a long church service and I headed home from there, I no know how dem do the food ooh😅
For the groom and his people, they left in shame, the guy dey form hard guy but his mom cried, I pitied the woman shaa, dem go go sort their family wahala...pastor don charge the boy to dey come church now oo...who knows if him go cum...and they did counselling ooo, I no know why dey still went ahead with it all.
Funny enough, I came back to Lag cause of wedding...I no see food chop but I carry my gift come house back. The girl is actually member of our church shaa (maybe that's y the support)
