To utilise the money paid for the reception on the burial instead of planning another event, getting people to rearrange their dates, and start paying another set of event organisers different from the ones already committed for her wedding.

I agree, but people that have taken excuses to travel on the wedding day may not make it earlier, and I think taking it later may prolong the agony on her husband and relatives. The DJ, MC etc that were already committed with money may have other engagements planned for other days. Its awkward, but they should do it and get on with their lives.

You know our people na, we too like to show off even when it's not needed. Bring up the matter of doing a simple burial in any family and they will verbally attack you, insisting on doing something befitting for the person, no matter how they died.

The Emeh is her husbands family name while the Osuji is her fathers…
