Same tree is your ex. Forest is an environment that contains so many different trees (girls) which might be more beautiful and fruitful than the same tree you encountered. So for you to see the same tree (ex) in a forest which has so many other trees (other more beautiful, better and productive girls) means you're not opening up yourself to the other trees in the forest which are displaying themselves before you, and the opportunities which they hold, but you are rather setting your mind on only this particular tree which you keep encountering. What he is saying is that; 'Past will always comes to mind, in such a way that you will just recall some stuffs about your past or the person randomly. This is normal, more reason why God gave us memory.

I do have memory of my ex, but that doesn't mean I want her back. NEVER!
