Tinubu have successfully wiped out the middle class in just one year

It's either you are rich or you are poor

No middle class

Clout chaser!

It's quite misleading to claim that someone earning a salary between 300k and 500k is poor.

Such statements seem designed to sensationalize issues and undermine the government's efforts.

While we acknowledge the economic challenges, a salary in that range can indeed provide a decent standard of living in Lagos or elsewhere in Nigeria.

It's essential to recognize the nuances of financial stability rather than reduce it to simplistic notions of wealth and poverty.

If you don't have dependence you are middle class.

If you have family, that is sorrow, stress and tears.

That is exactly the point... if you are earning minimum wage... you are not only very poor but filthy wretchedly poor if there's a term like that.

It's not misleading. That's the reality of the Nigerian economy today. A family earning less than N500k (which is less than $300) per month is considered poor by today's economic matrix.
Except you have no children or other defendants, live in a single bedroom apartment in a poor neighbourhood, eat very poor quality food, no vehicle or generator, etc., you quality of life would be quite low.
When you consider the average cost of feeding an average family of 5, paying house rent for 2 bedroom flat in a fairly good neighbourhood, paying school fees for 2 or 3 children quarterly, paying for band A electricity or running a generator a few hours a day, maintaining just one vehicle, transporting to and fro from work or business, you will realise that 500k per month would not just be ebough.

I hardly comment....

This is a sad reality.

I am in this range with 3 children....

Remove 300k from that post. Even with 500k, and three children, it is well with you....

Just to rephrase.. salary of 300k - 500k.. is just $175 - $195 in one month.. that is what people earn casually in one day in other decent climes.. doing blue-collar jobs not even white-collar jobs..

That guy speaking grammar above is a clown.. he doesn't deserve my quote.

According to a research by one institute in Lagos, only about 4% of Nigerians earn 200k and above. about 16% earn 100k - 200k.. 17% earn 50k and below. Over 20% earns nothing

It's a nation of highly impoverished populace.

P.S: For those quoting me for comparing out salaries with Dollar rate, your senses did not tell you that Human Capital Index worldwide is measured at the forex rate, Nigeria currently sits pretty at the bottom 10. When we say these things, it's those in Authority to understand the need to give the people a better deal.
