Many guests left early, some citing discomfort, while others reported concerns for their safety amidst the escalating commotion.

This haphazard rollout of the governor’s inaugural events is not merely an isolated embarrassment but potentially indicative of larger governance issues. Effective leadership demands not just a compelling vision but the structural capacity to plan, organize, and execute. Everyone in Benin yesterday were in sad mood except the touts who were visible everywhere all set to frustrate Edo people for another 4 years after being out of business for the last eight years.

To prove this point the accidental governor quickly suspended tax collection which was digitalised anyway with no physical cash transaction, the money goes straight to the state owned accounts with a print out serving as receipts. It was one of Obaseki's most celebrated reforms but the new illiterate is bent on taking the state backward as he already promised insecurity, the reason the hitherto retired pickpockets swinged into action since yesterday.

I pray we overcome the coming maladministration that will result from this grave political mistake.
