Rebuttal: Nigerians Are Confidential In INEC For The Conduct Of 2027 Election by LivingSage: 5:52pm On Dec 21, 2024 |
A thread just made the front page where some politically interested individuals expressed their lack of confidence in INEC's ability to conduct the 2027 general election. https://www.nairaland.com/8298293/2027-weve-no-confidence-inec However, it’s important to note that they are speaking for themselves, not for Nigerians as a whole. As a Nigerian citizen, along with my family and friends, we express unwavering confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a credible and transparent 2027 general election. While some political groups may voice concerns through every available mechanism, it's essential to recognize that their perspectives often reflect specific partisan interests rather than the collective will of the Nigerian populace. Political parties, by their nature, advocate for their own agendas and candidates. Their critiques of INEC are frequently influenced by their electoral prospects and may not necessarily represent the broader public sentiment. For instance, during the 2023 elections, various parties expressed dissatisfaction with INEC's performance, each highlighting issues that aligned with their political narratives. However, these criticisms were often rooted in partisan perspectives rather than objective assessments of INEC's capabilities. INEC has been proactive in addressing challenges from previous elections. The commission has conducted comprehensive reviews and implemented reforms to improve the electoral process. For instance, the 2023 General Election Report highlighted 178 recommendations across 14 thematic areas aimed at enhancing the management and conduct of future elections. In recent off-cycle elections, INEC has demonstrated its commitment to improving the electoral process. The Edo and Ondo governorship elections, for example, showcased INEC's efforts in deploying technology for result transmission and enhancing voter education. While challenges remain, these elections were generally regarded as steps forward in Nigeria's electoral journey. The International Republican Institute (IRI) noted that INEC's performance in these elections was a "positive development" for Nigeria's democracy. It's crucial to approach discussions about INEC's performance with a balanced perspective. While constructive criticism is vital for growth, it's equally important to acknowledge the progress made and the challenges inherent in managing elections in a diverse and populous nation like Nigeria. The call for reforms should be aimed at strengthening INEC's capacity and independence, ensuring that future elections are free, fair, and credible. As Nigerians, we place our trust in INEC's ability to conduct a credible 2027 general election. We urge all stakeholders to engage in constructive dialogue, focusing on enhancing the electoral process for the benefit of the entire nation, rather than advancing partisan agendas. Softmirror: An educated person who saw al the falsification on paper during the election and later heard about the glitches? Election is not about who won or lost but it's about setting a transparent process of choosing leadership and you people in Nigeria are not really interested on that. What you are interested is the winner that will take it all and that's why you will never ever get anything right, if you like pretend till Christ comes. 1 Like 1 Share |

Softmirror: I've told you that what INEC did was not an election, it's all about falsification and bulging up figures and I believe you and many of you in Nigeria can never stand before God and claim we had a good ( I didn't say perfect) election. Both, East, west, north and south, INEC messed up and most of you supported them and also believe you will make progress.... Most of you are sleeping on the bicycle in Nigeria with this mentality. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 1 Like |

Any Nigeria that vote 2027 is doing that at his or her peril. Take it or leave it, INEC will still rig it for Tinubu. So why waste your time, energy with empty stomach to queue in the line to vote already rigged elections. INEC, Nigerians don't have confidence in you. QED 1 Like |
