Good evening peeps, I did apply yesterday night but wen I downloaded my acknowledgement slip I noticed I made a mistake by not filling in my graduation year only. Just feeling bad that it might affect me being shortlisted at the end. Dunno tho....

You didn’t make a mistake. My graduation date too is blank. But I filled it. So you must’ve filled yours too. I think it’s a general thing

Apart from applications reg no, I don't think this people are really interested in any things again because the site is poorly designed

Can anyone explain the difference between general duty and support staff please?

General duty officers carry out general Customs procedures e.g enforcement, valuation, import and export desk etc

Support staff just like in any other organisation, carry out supporting roles aiding the organisation run smoothly, they include medical staff like doctors and nurses; technical staff like engineers, Architects; lawyers, Accounts, drivers, tailors etc.

That should explain it.

So in the case if this recruitment, there are a few support staff roles advertised. So if you don't fit in any of those, your only other option is general duty.

I located the page in browser's history and got a link like recruitment.customs.gov.ng/apply/ as you said. I copied it in new tab and reloaded, a new/fresh application page is what is displaying. I guess I need more help in accessing my acknowledgment slip since I haven't received any mail of successful application

The specification doesn't carry red star like other important fields as such, it's not compulsory and won't stop you from submitting your application. Mine was like that and my application was successfully submitted. Just that before l could take the screenshot of the on screen successful application message, the server time ran out and I didn't receive any successful application email.
