President Bola Tinubu has expressed his profound joy at the re- opening of the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited.

A statement by the Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), Bayo Onanuga on Monday, described the development as another remarkable achievement in 2024 that has strengthened Nigerians’ hope in his administration.

“Today, the Warri Refinery returned to operation weeks after NNPC Limited restarted the 60,000 Barrels per day at the Port Harcourt Refinery in November.

“With Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company (WRPC) going into operation after several years of inactivity, President Tinubu has once again expressed his administration’s determination to ramp up local refining capacity and make Nigeria a hub for downstream industrial activities in Africa.

“The All Progressives Congress-led administration of President Muhammadu Buhari awarded the contract for the complete rehabilitation and overhaul of the four state-owned refineries,” the statement said.

President Tinubu noted with confidence that with the 125,000 (bpd) Warri Refinery now operating at 60% capacity, his administration’s comprehensive plan to ensure energy efficiency and security is entirely on course. He praised the Mele Kyari-led management of the NNPCL for working hard to restore Nigeria’s glory and pride as a major oil-producing country.

“The restart of Warri Refinery today brings joy and gladness to me and Nigerians. This will further strengthen the hope and confidence of Nigerians for a greater and better future than we promised.

This development is a remarkable way to end the year following the feat recorded earlier with the old Port Harcourt Refinery. I am equally happy that NNPC Limited is implementing my directive to restore all four refineries to good working condition.

“I congratulate Mele Kyari and his team at NNPCL for working hard to restore our national pride and make Nigeria a hub for crude oil refining in Africa,” President Tinubu said.

President Tinubu enjoined NNPCL to accelerate repair work on Kaduna Refinery and the 150,000 (bpd) second refinery in Port Harcourt to consolidate Nigeria’s position as a global energy provider.

WRPC will focus on producing and storing critical products, including Straight Run Kerosene (SRK), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and heavy and light Naphtha.

My darling President, Nigeria does not deserve you. If I were you, I will dip my hands into the treasury and continue to pay every penny of subsidy till I bleed the country to its knee, if that makes those ungrateful wailers sleep well at night.

This is in addition to PH refinery coming online, and many other good news we have been hearing in this quarter.

I have said it before and I will say it again...

By the time Tinubu is through with Nigeria, a lot of people will rush to be called agbadorians. Many neutrals will have no other choice than to thank those that saved them from the fake posture of lamba king whose only showing is doing cho cho cho.

Unredeemable haters however will always find something to hate and complain about.

None of the present politicians has the kind of brain, vision and boldness that Tinubu has. What I most like about him is that he is not playing to the gallery or doing photo ops.

He should stay the course and not take us back to the dark years of the locusts. By the time Tinubu completes 8 years in office as President, Nigeria will never be the same anymore, just look at what Lagos state has become. He is the man with the Midas touch, Jagaban Borgu.

What we have is a change of cabal not a defeat of cabal.

If fuel doesn't drop to #500 at 75k minimum wage or it remains #1,200 and Minimum wage doesn't increase to 150k then you are celebrating uselessness and incompetence and wickedness.

Tinubu is ice-cold.

Many Nigerians say a lot of nonsense like " it just can't work. This is the cabal" " this is Nigeria" when talking about NNPC and NEPA

NNPC has engulfed trillions of Naira with them always sabotaging machinery and collecting salaries for doing nothing.

I am very sure Tinubu simply threatened them with massive downsizing and they suddenly woke up.

In the 2023 elections, Tinubu was my 1st Choice followed by Atiku. Those 2 men have no Masters and they have massive balls. No h0m0.

With 3 refineries working by 2027, voters would willingly cast for him. We always heard to get one refinery working was impossible.

3 might work in BATs tenure. This is one of the reasons even the North fears him. He CANNOT be controlled.

Let me predict something. Tinubu at a point you would least expect will suddenly "crash" fuel price to 700-800 and with the euphoria of "he's working, this has never happened.. the fuel price reduced by a margin never-seen-before", the way he will crush his opponents will shock everyone.

Tinubu is a VERY smart politician. His enemies just foolishly underestimate him.

Mr Tinubu is getting some credits with this. I know some people would say buhari started it as usual. Hope they would admit buhari started all the problems tinubu administration is facing as well.
It seems Tinubus cabals are far better than buharis cabals.

So the refineries should be closed down because they can sell at the price you want.

propaganda at its best.

Is the refinery aware that it has been opened?

We hear of refineries opening everywhere, but fuel is still 1k plus.

That was how they kept shouting FDI throughout the year but have only been able to attract a paltry $3.75B in 5 years.

You can only deceive agbadorians because the same blood runs through all of Una.

Nonsense.
