1.55 trillion budget? Niger state? Did I not read well? That’s fantastic. Hopefully this governor can move the state a long way forward before his regime comes to an end. Hopefully also the next person after him can be also very passionate for good governance like him. His program on agriculture is very elaborate and hopefully, if insecurity is checkmated, the state can make its own contribution to the national food bank. 2 Likes |

Bago is doing excellently in Niger State. If every governor could be as visionary and hardworking as this, Nigeria would be the better for it. Unfortunately, some governors only care about how much dollars could be stuffed into their babanriga pockets at a go. 4 Likes |

MyVILLAGEpeople: Apart from Sanwo Olu, Bago is the other performing governor in Nigeria. A few other governors have the desire and have some plans in place like the Ekiti governor but these two have shown actions and a clear path . Bago is already restructuring the state to benefit from their geographical and agricultural advantages. I am already considering how to secure land in the NC, plateau and Benue are out of the question because of the insecurity and the tendencies of the locals there but Niger is a strong consideration |

NaijaCrusader: He was offended because the Alfa was impersonating, rather crude response but I can understand why individuals like him take offence to unsanctioned uncontrolled actions of clerics. ElRufai tried to implement a body to regulate religious clerics across all persuasions but he was falsely accused, we all suffering from the unregulated actions of religious preachers now. In Saudi Arabia, Israel and in other states where order is essential religious teaching is regulated. Anyone who wants to preach must be trained by a recognized organisation, registered and regulated. 1 Like |

hakeemhakeem: You don't build roads based on land mass, road networks are built to accommodate expected traffic volumes, population density etc. Lagos state has a much higher estimated traffic volume. Remember that the badagry road is also part of the West African super highway network so must be adequate for use as the economic activities across the region increases. |

It is perplexing that both our state and federal governments in Nigeria consistently overlook mass housing when touting their achievements in housing development. It is even more concerning, given that millions of people live without shelter, defecate in the open due to inadequate sanitation, and endure the crushing realities of multidimensional poverty. For a nation facing such profound socio-economic challenges, prioritising the construction of affordable, mass housing for the poorest members of society should be a moral and developmental imperative. Providing safe and decent homes will not only offer dignity and security to the marginalised but also have ripple effects on health, productivity, and social cohesion. Beyond housing, there is an urgent need to address other critical areas such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure. Our health and education systems are in dire need of comprehensive reforms and upgrades. Providing free education at all levels, alongside universal health insurance, is not merely an act of social responsibility; it is an investment in the future of the country. These measures would significantly reduce the financial burdens and emotional stress faced by millions of citizens, paving the way for a healthier, more educated, and more productive population. Additionally, infrastructure development must be approached holistically, ensuring that every community, urban and rural, has access to clean water, reliable electricity, good roads, and efficient waste management systems. Such initiatives will improve living standards, stimulate local economies, and foster a sense of equity and inclusion among citizens. Ultimately, a government that prioritizes the well-being of its people by addressing housing, education, healthcare, and infrastructure challenges lays the foundation for a more prosperous, stable, and equitable society. These efforts require vision, commitment, and the political will to place the needs of the many above the interests of the few. |
