people having fun is good, but this carnivals are a waste of everyone's time.
They work in the carribean because it's the local culture there. We're just copying and it's embarassing because culturally we cannot commit to what makes the carnivals in the caribbean work. So the real carinvals feature people acting freely and attractive half naked. And the Nigerian ones are just people in cheap costumes walking in a cue.

There isn't an actual cultural event in Benue they could have just put funding and attention into?

They look too serious and not for the carnival but for the pay after the carnival..
The look on their faces, the arrangement, everything looks artificial and ugly.
