The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the arrest of Ihsanatu Shaaibu and one other unnamed suspect for physically abusing her five-year-old stepdaughter.

This was made known in a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, and shared on X.com on Thursday.

According to Adejobi, the arrest took place earlier on Thursday, and investigations are now underway to ensure justice is served.

The statement read, “CHILD ABUSE: In relation to the viral video where a woman identified as Ihsanatu Shaaibu physically abused and caused grievous injuries to her stepdaughter, a five-year-old.

“The suspects have been arrested today, Thursday 9th Jan 2025, and will be prosecuted as soon as investigations are concluded. We will keep you abreast of the proceedings.”

Recall that a teacher, Stella Nwadigo, was arrested and arrainged for physically assaulting a three-year-old pupil at Christ-Mitots International School in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

Nwadigo was apprehended after a video surfaced online showing her repeatedly slapping a young child, Abayomi Micheal.

Why are Human so wicked

Why do women often engage in this behaviour? And why do men frequently struggle to take action in such situations? Why would a father sit down and watch his child going through such treatment without saying anything? I'm seeking to understand why women sometimes exhibit cruelty towards other people's children while being fiercely protective of their own. Is it because men are weak or blinded by love that they fail to act, allowing this behavior to continue..I don't understand.

If you ask me to suggest a punishment for this woman, honestly, I think the best is dead by firing squad or dead by hanging. A woman capable of inflicting such cruelty on a 5 year old child is potentially capable of taking a life hence her life should be taken too. The same should be apply to the husband, who's fóolish enough not to know his role as a man and act as one .

No matter how financially struggling you are, never leave your child with a stepmother, never give your child out for house help. Even if you're facing hardships, ensure your child's well being and safety remain your top priority. Only have the number of children you can adequately provide for. Because not everyone you meet or see are genuinely human.

The poor girl have received eternal scars from the wicked step mother. God punish all evil useless step mothers and those maltreating people's children.

There is something in the hearts of most women towards the children of any woman in competition with them or their children in a homestead. Something manaical, vile, devilish in the extreme. I have concluded it's probably a force of nature of a kind, the sort which makes lions kill the cubs of lionesses from another lion, the sort which makes many animals act violently to progeny which is not their own.

Its almost like an evolutionary or survival of the fittest instinct, the hatred is too consistent, too impulsive, too natural.
Best not to leave a child in such situations unless one is very very sure the woman is of even temperament.
