Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, with the Management of CCC Construction Company during the inspection of the Onitsha-Enugu Dual Carriage way at Upper-Iweka axis…recently.

Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi has said that more multi-national companies would soon join the SABmiller group that is presently constructing the biggest brewery in Nigeria at Onitsha.

The governor disclosed this while inspecting the multi-million dollar SABmiller facility.

Governor Obi described the project as one of the biggest non-oil direct investments in the country and the first state since the state’s creation.

He pointed out that such investment was critical in the state’s vision of creating employment, empowering the people, eradicating poverty and strengthening the economy.

The governor said government was putting in place infrastructure to enhance activities of the companies and was presently discussing with the Minister of Power on how to boost power supply to the area as well as other federal and state agencies to help in repositioning the estate.

The company’s Project Manager, Mr. James Hall, said the steel component of the building would soon be in place, while the equipment and technology would arrive soon for installation. Obi also inspected the construction of the first segment of the Onitsha-Awka-Enugu dual carriage way.

During the inspection on Electronic Market end of the road, he said that government was doing everything possible to ensure that work on the project was accelerated during the dry season. He assured that the beatification of the area would commence once the road was done as it could not be the other way round.
