The United Bank For Africa(UBA) have successfully become one of the most profitable banks in Nigeria. At the end of last year 2024, they were crowned amongst the top 5 banks that were best in all parameters.

Prior to the continuous buzz regarding underpayment and non compliance to the recent minimum wage increment, the underpaid outsourced staff had their hopes raised when the management of the bank sent out memos as to salary increment.

Unfortunately, after waiting for over 6 months for an increment in salary, to measure up with the other banks who have become competitive in payment, they were all left embittered when they received their January 2025 salary.

Why wait for 6 months only to add a maximum of #28,000 to the net salaries of these outsourced staff?

These guys happen to be the least paid amongst the tier 1 banks in Nigeria. If you go through my previous posts, you'd see the appalling salaries these guys take home.

As as today, the current salaries of these outsourced staff are approximated as thus;

Hygiene Officers: #65,000
Security Officers: ~#79,000
Tellers/CSO:
Associate 1--#138,000
Associate 2--#151,009
Associate 3 --#166,000.

If this is the best Mr Tony could do, then he has officially become the best Philanthropist in Nigeria. He should be awarded as such.

PS: Othe tier 1 banks pays from #213,000 upwards.

I was told increment for outsourced staff was announced sometime ago.

Honestly speaking. It's a huge disappointment
