The All Progressives Congress, on Monday, announced that interested aspirants for the Anambra State governorship primary would pay N50m to procure the nomination and expression of interest forms.

The ruling party also released its primary election timetable containing activities and dates of the exercise.

The schedule signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, however, stipulated that female aspirants and interested Persons Living with Disabilities are to procure only the expression of interest form for N10m, while the nomination form would be given free.

On the other hand, young politicians within the age bracket of 25 and 40 years, who are interested in vying for the governorship ticket are also encouraged to purchase an expression of interest form with a 50 per cent discount on nomination form

Argungu noted all candidates vying for the position should come to the national headquarters of the APC in Wuse II in Abuja from February 10 to 25 to purchase and pick up their forms.

He said, “In compliance with the relevant sections of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Electoral Act, the All Progressives Congress hereby makes public its timetable and schedule of activities leading to the 8th November 2025 gubernatorial election in Anambra state, as released by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

“The sales of nomination and expression of interest and delegate forms begin from February 10 to 25, while the last day for submission of forms is February 26. There will be a screening of aspirants from March 7 to 8, while publication of screening results starts from March 10.

“Delegates Congress will hold on April 2, Primary Election April 5, Ratification of governorship election results by Congress April 6, Submission of list of nominated candidates to the NWC April 8.

“However, while the commencement of the campaign by the APC begins June 11, the final day of the campaign / grand finale takes place on November 6.”

50 what??
APC is a useless party who doesn't care about the feelings and plight of Nigerians.

They spoilt the Economy, caused hunger, insecurity and hyper inflation & right now, it's the spreading of Sharia courts that is their problem instead of fixing the mess they created.
All Nigerians must come together to kickout this cancerous party in 2027.

If the nomination form is ₦50M, is it the party that will pay for it or the individual?
Because the basic salary of the governor is way less than that amount for a recovery.

These shows where the corruption begins from.

Why is a nomination form so expensive? Which normal person in his or her right mind would spend 50 million of their hard-earned money to buy a form. If you can afford such, what is the essence of campaigning? It means you can buy off anyone.

Only persons with dubious source of incomes pay that amount of money for a form. You now see why we can never have good leaders as the potential ones are screened out and you see why people kill themselves over such forms.

No wonder there has been a wave of ritual killings all over the place inorder to raise 50m for a piece of paper.

Some political calculation indicated that Bianca will pick a form to shake the state since her husband is the founder of APGA and Tinubu have being eying Soludo for appointment. It will be difficult but Let's see how far.

Where will a retired civil/public servant get such money to obtain the form at such rates and other necessary materials.

The campaigns logistics and meetings with party members and other things are not left out.

The system have only pave ways for rogues and criminals to govern the states.

This is the reason why some elected state governors abort their proposed incentive program during their campaigns when they resumed office. They needed to refund the money they borrowed from their allies or financial institutions back within their two years in office. Appointment and other things are delayed as well...

This is exactly why corruption will never leave Nigerian politics. How do you expect good governance when a nomination form alone costs ₦50 million? In a country where most people struggle to survive on less than a dollar a day, only the wealthy or those backed by godfathers can contest. And once they get into office, their first mission is to recover their "investment." Politics here isn’t about service; it’s business. With this kind of system, honest leaders don’t stand a chance, and the cycle of corruption just keeps going.
