A Policy Economist and former Chief of staff to the Governor of Edo State, Hon Taiwo Akerele has said there is no debate around Senator Adams Oshiomhole’s going back to the senate for the second term in 2027 by the special grace of God.


Akerele challenged opponents of Adams Oshiomhole to a public debate on his performance in the last two years in office. Is it in terms of intellectual debate? Legislative advocacy, holding public officers to account for budgetary funds, connection to the rural people? Policy engagement or empowerment? Senator Adams Oshiomhole is an all rounder.

We are extremely proud of him. I think he will be the only Senator in both APC, PDP, LP and others not to have an opponent in the 2026 primaries across Nigeria solely due to his adjudged high performance in his duties.

He needs no godfather to market him. We must call a spade a spade.


According to Akerele, Oshiomhole has scored A1 in all parameters. I really dont understand the rumours that some guys are nursing ambition to go to the senate in Edo north in 2027, how? From where? Where are they coming from? What is their pedigree?

There are some things we should not be associated with in politics, the World bank trained Policy economist asserted.


Akerele said he has always engaged Comrade Oshiomhole in heated policy debates ‘Some time ago in 2024 I had a heated argument with him around some policies of the current government especially on subsidy removal, inflation, exchange rate, food security, youth employment, food prices etc.’ Senator Adams Oshiomhole was very calm in dismantling all my points one by one, point by point without bullying me.

His loyalty to Mr President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is unassailable, his knowledge of the economy is enviable and his connection to the grassroots across Nigeria is a plus to the ruling party, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is an asset to Nigeria.


Mr Akerele advised Senator Adams Oshiomhole’s opponents to be circumspect in pandering to drum beats of internal and external sycophants, Afemai is one and we wont allow enemies of Edo north to divide the leadership of the senatorial zone.
