Amid the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, former federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has suggested that the “the ultimate goal is impeachment and not peace”.

Sani was reacting to the lastest development in the state after Governor Siminalayi Fubara was denied access to the State House of Assembly.

“The ultimate goal in Rivers is impeachment and not peace; what happens afterwards is left to God,” Sani said.

DAILY POST reported that Fubara was on Wednesday denied access to the Rivers State House of Assembly quarters, where lawmakers were holding plenary sessions.

DAILY POST gathered that Fubara arrived at the Assembly quarters to present the state 2025 budget but was met with a locked gate, preventing his entry.

Recall that the governor had earlier pledged to implement the Supreme Court judgment, which includes the formal presentation of the 2024 budget.

Meanwhile Fubara has accused the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule of deliberately avoiding him.

Fubara said he had called Amaewhule severally before the incident but the Speaker refused to answer.

The present goal is impeachment while the future goal is election manipulation in 2027 to perpetuate an unpopular Agbadorian in power. That’s why they want to set Rivers ablaze.

They want to impeach him so that they can perpetuate their criminal justice system again in 2027 like they did in 2023, and they say Aso Rock is not part of this plan.

If you think you are popular why not let the people decide instead of using Inec and the judiciary to perform illegality.

Obviously. That has been repeatedly stated. We all know it. That’s why Wike purchased forms for all of them, so that he can absolutely dominate and control the state from wherever he’s located.

Can we not safely say that the reason is found in the control of state resources?

It's very easy to predict situations in Nigeria due to it's corrupt state. I am so convinced that he's gonna be impeached but before that they'll oppres him because they have the power to impeache him

the timid fool is as good as impeached already! He is not smart enough to be a governor ! The only thing people like Wike know is extreme stupid violence ! The very moment fubara fails to rain violence on Wike and his law makers ! Was the start of his failure!
