This house will be huge! Floor space will be over 400 sqmts and in a challenging terrain. the land is hilly, uneven and very stony. But we are here to turn this land into a building site where a very magnificent structure will sit. Construction will start this week and we are getting materials into site and getting other things ready.

This house will have

4 bedrooms, all en-suit
1 master bedroom
1 living room (voided)
1 dining room
1 kitchen
1 bar
1 study room
Ante room
Front porch

Some pictures of how the site looks before we move in.

Na wa for that land oh! Am not sure I would have personally bought that land without the concept of a builder/engineer. Waiting and watching all the same.

The owner carried me along and I went and saw this land before it was paid for. What I loved about the land was;
1. The area location of this land (best name location in Enugu),
2. The size (over 1400 sqmt)
3. The corner piece position of the land.

The imbalance in the land could be corrected, only that some additional money will be spent, especially in the filling sand and filling labour. We intend to balance out the building and level the compound.

The owner actually suggested bringing in a grader/bulldozer to work on the site but I refused, I will not like the grader to level the land and leave some loose soil on the low side. The implication of this is that we might be doing a foundation on loose soil/dusty sand deposits. Structurally this is unsafe. I will like to cut this foundation into hard ground, balance out the surface by raising the blocks/foundation column and getting a flat block line in the top coach, then fill the insides with laterite filling sand.

I told him that it is safer to use the bulldozer/grader money to buy filling sand and maintain a taller/ safer building.
