Please will need information on passat 2.0 petrol engine car. Enquiries like the durability, price etc. Don't know much about cars and it will be my first in about a month's time. Anyone with useful info please. All I know for now is that I am crazy about the design. Thanks.

It all depends on what year you mean.From 2001,Volkswagen vastly improved its quality of both engines and vehicles.The 2.0petrol engine comes in 2 forms:an 'ordinary' and the turbo.Its used to power Audi's A4 and A3 as well as some Skoda Octavias,Seat Leons and Toledos and of course a variety of Volkswagens.
Having used the same engine in my Audi,I think its well built and durable.Of course,you need to service it regularly to get the best out of it.Not to mention 38mpg.Fantastic!
Make sure your car's electrics are intact and you should have little (no) worries.A friend of mine is an ardent fan of VW and has found them quite reliable.The current Passat is so good its almost challenging the premium products of Merc;BMW;Jaguar;Lexus;Audi etc.Its generally rated higher that the new Avensis-which is saying a lot.
So,I think its a good choice and I hope you have many happy years of motoring ahead!
