Una don quick dey change mouth.. hahahah

The bill that was passed is the Northern version. The Yoruba version that Tinubu initially presented is used to wrap Suya for sale grin grin grin

I have no clue what the bill is all about just the noise it generated.

If you don't know jack about that bill and how it betters Nigeria. Hit the like button and join me in same whatsApp group

My brother I didn't care to know just that I heard it pained the north and they decided to hold Tinubu for brokus and as a Yoruba man he succumbed

The initial Yoruba tax bill Tinubu proposed was dumped into the trash can by almighty North. The one passed won't favour Yoruba and Lagos as proposed by Tinubu. The North will benefit more from this tax bill

Tribalism at it's peak, I fear for the future of this country.
Young citizens thinking to this way? Hhmmm

Stop lying to make yourself happy. Tinubu wanted 60% derivation 20% population 20% equity. The reps passed 50% equity, 30% derivation 20% population. Tinubu wanted wanted 10% progress to 15%. Reps passed 7.5%. They removed inheritance tax, hiring consultants etc
Another illiterate, Tinubu already said it in his Presidential chat that he wouldn't mind concession but a reasonable one. And that's what he got. If you wanted 60% derivation for states where goods are being consumed and you got 30% which is by far better than the current one. The states especially the Southern states will always appreciate him for that. He wanted 20% for population and he got it, he wanted 60% for derivation and got 30%, fair deal. So, what nonsense are you talking about?

The two most important bills slated for the first quarter of the year done and dusted- the Budget and the Tax reform bills. Let every other thing begin to fall in place. Whatever Jagaban sets his eyes on, he achieves it, too focused to be distracted. Let wailers continue wailing.

After God, na Tinubu 💪 God bless Nigeria

They passed the northern version of the bill

The Oyedele version is being used to clean yansh right now in a village in Bauchi

This is the chance for Lagos and Rivers to talk, once a new tax bill is passed, that's the end of the Rivers and Lagos case in court.

States won't be keeping anything from the VATs they generate according to this bill passed by the house of rep.

I wander why lawmakers from states generation huge VATs are not fighting to get more
You are ignorant

The matter in court was a CONSTITUTIONAL MATTER

Making a new law will not make it constitutional

Rather than talk ignorantly read the constitution and the Court judgment

It is clear VAT is a reserve matter and ONLY

State governments can collect it.

Lagos and Rivers state silence is clearly strategic . There is no need to talk NOW.
The other parts of the law are what matter to Tinubu so they will not antagonize him till the bill is passed.

With constitutional matters you can bring it up ANY TIME

Notice Wike brought it up even though the constitution had been operating for more than 20 years .

The judgment is clear THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS NO CONSTITUTIONAL MANDATE to collect VAT

That means the National Assembly cannot make laws about VAT unless the states agree

The reason why states are cooperation is to ensure that VAT is uniform across the country and allowing the FIRS to collect it is more efficient

Can you see how buffoonish you sound. Why can't you reduce the derivation back to 20 or 15%?. Why did you allow an increase in states derivation by 10%?, don't you know what 10% increase means to the states?. I thought your noise will shut it down completely grin
As VAT increase was suspended at 7.5%, ( which wasn't even their bone of contention) that's what I thought your Northern noisemakers will also suspend any derivation that will reduce the collection on population which is the fraud used in getting more money and also stop states derivation from being increased. Illiterate boy.
Lol
You're not smart
60% to 30% is 100% reduction. Which school did you attend? grin grin
What is 10% compared to the initial 40% proposed? Are you really this poor with figures or just playing
You think VAT reduction is not important? You know nothing putin's bottom

The tax reforms bill is not perfect as what was proposed but it's better than what was in place before .

That's the power of negotiations,no one can have it all .

Could you prove this?

that is because you don’t know how Yoruba intellectuals work. Let me give you the sample. If I want 10 naira from you, I will demand 50 and you will protest and say you can only give 30. I will accept the 30 even thou its 10 I was expecting. It’s called Jagaban game.
