nedu666:Another illiterate, Tinubu already said it in his Presidential chat that he wouldn't mind concession but a reasonable one. And that's what he got. If you wanted 60% derivation for states where goods are being consumed and you got 30% which is by far better than the current one. The states especially the Southern states will always appreciate him for that. He wanted 20% for population and he got it, he wanted 60% for derivation and got 30%, fair deal. So, what nonsense are you talking about? 1 Like |

Ikaeniyan0:You are ignorant The matter in court was a CONSTITUTIONAL MATTER Making a new law will not make it constitutional Rather than talk ignorantly read the constitution and the Court judgment It is clear VAT is a reserve matter and ONLY State governments can collect it. Lagos and Rivers state silence is clearly strategic . There is no need to talk NOW. The other parts of the law are what matter to Tinubu so they will not antagonize him till the bill is passed. With constitutional matters you can bring it up ANY TIME Notice Wike brought it up even though the constitution had been operating for more than 20 years . The judgment is clear THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS NO CONSTITUTIONAL MANDATE to collect VAT That means the National Assembly cannot make laws about VAT unless the states agree The reason why states are cooperation is to ensure that VAT is uniform across the country and allowing the FIRS to collect it is more efficient |
