Portharcourt is very calm ,people are going about their normal businesses.

Do nigerians have the capacity to sustain a 1 week protest , ? No way .

We should be talking about the way forward now .The policy is alraedy in place .No going back .

Let us unite against CORRUPTION which is the main issue we should be fighting .Subsidy is a secondary issueas far as i am concerned .

NIGERIA ,GREAT PEOPLE ,GREAT NATION !!!!!!

Oil Subsidy, the fact is “we are subsidising West-Africa Nations”, not only Nigeria, people should see through these sentiments. If we are planning not now, probably in the future, to have economic integration with ‘WA Nations’ we have to be selling our Petroleum Products, goods, and services at competitive rates, that is at the same rate across board otherwise we would be doomed as a nation like Greece.

Subsidising every country from Benin Republic in our immediate West of Nigeria, to Mauritania in the far North West of West Africa is a suicidal pact with the devil which we should shy and run away from no matter the hardship.

Monkey dey work baboon dey chop!!! undecided

Pls moderators, keep this topic at the very top of the front page.

In Aba, Abia state, there doesn't seem to be any semblance of any protest because most pple are still stuck in their villages. But let's see how things pan out

Lets fight corruption not subsidy removal. Fuel subsidy is the greatest fraud imposed on Nigerians by the thiefing elite and political class
Re: Occupy Nigeria: Updates From Across The Nation by JimmyBoy1: 11:40am On Jan 03, 2012
I know this is not a popular position, but I think the subsidy remval will stand, hence  we should all improvise in order to ensure that we come out tops in ths matter. Thinking of ditching my car for a diesel Van I bought sometimes last year.

Re: Occupy Nigeria: Updates From Across The Nation by utelee: 11:50am On Jan 03, 2012
@samstels i quite agree with u we nigeria do not hav d capacity 2 sustain 1 wk protest d policy is there already, corruption is d main thing we shd b tackling now our player is let dem (govt)channel d subsidy money at d right direction 2 restore pepl's confidence in governance without enrich dem selves.
Re: Occupy Nigeria: Updates From Across The Nation by doctokwus: 11:50am On Jan 03, 2012
Other states going about there biz,no wahala, when d effects. Which av set in begin to suck blood out of some people,no one will need b told to come out& fight against this govt.
Let those who feel unperturbed sit comfortably where they are,no one shd force anybody, soon we wud all b crying, just that some will b crying blood of frustration, dejection& poverty

#OccupyNigeria #Lagos

A few tires have been torched along the road. Spoke with a policeman who said he spent close to 600naira to get to work and didn't know how he would get back home. The NPF has not been co-operative so far, choosing to shoot (around Fadeyi) rather than listen to us. A frustrated BRT driver parked his bus, asked the passengers to come down so he could join the protest.

Aluta continua!

More updates to come
