From my perspective, the nation should STOP doing these:

1) Stop the current subsidy removal
2) Stop the hand out to niger delta militants and instead pay them to work
3) Stop the excessive govt pay, excessive govt benefits, and loopholes for corruption by officals and govt(federal and state) contractors
4) Stop leaving the borders open
5) Stop letting IMF or others force or coarse us to apply a certain innovation that can greatly affect the internal economics or security
6) Stop paying chiefs, obas, sultans, etc


The nation should START doing these:

1) Start paying and applying the militants and other paid militants who wants to work for infrastructure developments eg railways, roads, bridges, school rennovations, etc
2)Start using murderers, armed robbers, attempted murderers for infrastructural developments that does not involve technical abilities because that will be the jobs of free and innocent civilians in the society. Murderers, armed robbers, and attempted murderers should be used projects like extensive underground rail network, less populated road network, etc
3) Start capping what the govt can pay senators, president, ministers, governors, LGA, house of rep etc; The president should be capped at $150,000 a year, the vice like $120,000/yr, senate president @ $100,000/yr, governor @$100,000/yr, regular senator @ $80,000/yr, HOR @ $70,000/yr, LGAs @ $40,000/yr, ministers @ $65,000/yr, etc These should be -$15,000/yr for the same positions at the state level.
4)Start paying police and teachers $800/month with benefits like free feeding on work  hours, discount on transportation, free education for self and up to 4 kids, free training related to the job, etc
5) Start capping govt benefits for govt officals up to 50% even if that involves cutting foreign travels, minimizing their housing benefits, capping the security entourage of officals to a car, an armed driver and a guard for senators and house of reps(HOR); One armed driver and one car for LGA;  Three cars and five guards(where the five guard double for rotating drivers) for a governor and the senate president; Two cars and three guards for vice governor; One driver that is also a guard for ministers; etc
6) Start building infrastructure and continue to maintain the ones built
7) Start doing property tax according to size of the land or house that are mostly for personal use
Start passing and implementing laws that guide housing and consumer services eg before a flat you built with intent to rent passes the inspection, it must have a shower, ventilation, painted, and free of hazards.
9) Start revetting the police, equipping them and start implementing forensics in crime solving
10) Start being innovative with the intent of loosening the pain that ordinary nigerians endure not tightening the noose with the hopes that things will get better
11) Start encouraging manufacturing and other lasting investments
12) Start encouraging a maintenance culture
13) Start prosecuting corrupt officals


The nation should continue doing these things above and many other innovative ideas to loosen and improve the lives of ordinary nigerians

1) Continue the unity of nigerians by reducing migration/residency hurdles eg any nigerian who lives and works in a state for 1 yr can vote in that state, any nigerian discriminated against due to tribe or watever illegal can sue that state
