First Lady inaugurates war ship on Monday

Lagos – The First Lady, Mrs Patience Jonathan, will on Monday in Lagos inaugurate “NNS THUNDER’’, a war ship donated to Nigeria by the U.S. Government.

The Information Officer, NNS Beecroft, Lt.- Cdr Jerry Omodara, said in a statement on Friday that the ship berthed in Nigeria on Jan. 4.

“NNS THUNDER’’, which was handed over to Nigeria on May 13, 2011, set sail on Nov. 21, 2011 and berthed at the Apapa Base on Jan. 4 at 10.58 a.m.

The Commanding Officer of the ship, Capt. Mohammed Baba, said that the ship sailed through California, Pacific Ocean, Trinidad, the Atlantic, stopped over in Senegal, Dakar before heading finally for Nigeria.

I used to be pro-jonathan but right now, kai d guy really needs to leave dat seat. I mean, wats d first lady's business with a naval ship? There r serious security issues on ground. I've never heard of a firtst lady commisioning a naval ship before. For goodness sake, a first lady's priorities are on family, children, women and health affair, etc. What concerns this woman with the military that she can never handle. Jonathan really doesn't understand some people's roles in government, including that of his so-called first lady.

That is why 2Billion Naira was allocated to the office of the First Lady in 2012 Budget
