Embattle Inspector General of Police has secretly started moving personal effects from his Maitama, Abuja official residence as investigations into his involvement in the escape of kabir Sokoto, the alleged Christmas Day Bomb suspect intensifies.

Sources in the police confided in pointblanknews.com that already, two black marias (Police Trucks) were sited last week moving stuff out of the residence.

A domestic staff that witnessed the movement told Pointblanknews.com that cash and other valuables including documents were part of items moved from the Maitama residence of the out-going Inspector General of Police.

“We moved documents and some personal belongings. I know some sealed boxes and cartons I suspect contain cash and other valuables were also part of the things we moved,” the domestic staff who does not want his name mentioned told Pointblanknews.com.

Asked if the IGP is aware he may not last long as the Police Chief, the source said, “from his body language, I think he knows because even from his office, he has been moving items to his private house somewhere in Abuja.”

Source further hinted Pointblanknews.com that the NSA’s report from its investigation of Ringim will be damning but to give him a soft-landing, he might just be retired.

Ringim who is due to retire from the Police is currently under investigation by the office of the National Security Adviser, NSA, over his alleged complicity in the escape of Sokoto.

[size=13pt]Sources hinted that very top-level government officials of northern extraction masterminded the escape of Sokoto. They include some members of the Federal Executive Council, Governors, Senators, Emirs, House of Representatives members, top military and police officers. It explains why the suspect was kept at Wuse 7, under Police Commissioner Zakari Biu, instead of Force CID, Area 10 or Force Headquarters, and why he was transported to far away Abaji with lax security (six police officers) at night.

Sokoto, it was further gathered, has a truckload of information that would have indicted very many top government officials.

According to our source, Ringim, Biu, and some top Government officials of the Borno State Government know Sokoto and are weary of exposing him to series of interrogation that may indict highly placed individuals from the North.[/size]
