Activities so far in the duplex project in Owerri, Imo state.

First I went to the new building materials market and bought some materials, this is a part of their timber section. I bought the woods that will serve our needs for the initial works in the project, the pegging and the work house/store.

Re: Strong, Beautiful And Affordable Homes by spyder880(m): 10:09pm On Mar 31, 2012
Then we loaded the woods and bought 3 tanks which will be used to store water in the site. This is the truck before it left the market.

Some of the wood while they were being offloaded.

The tanks were hoisted up to the stand.

More tanks go up, to be connected with pipes from the borehole and store enough water overhead.

Meanwhile the carpenters started to construct the wooden structure that will serve as the store/accommodation for my boys when they will all come here to party.

We are also active in other sites, we are;

1. roofing the 4 bedroom bungalow somewhere in Enugu, (pictures will be shown tomorrow)
2. getting materials ready to continue the upper walling of the large duplex project,
3. and please don't forget my house! (pictures will be shown tomorrow)

Workers are still in my house doing some small works as my small money can allow. They have done digging the soak away pit and are now casting concrete on the pit floor. More pictures here by tomorrow.

@spyder
The tank stand looks really nice. How much did it cost to make that tank stand and how many feet into the ground to make it safe for a stand of that height? You have made this thread to be the most valuable resource on Nairaland

Thank you Spyder. What size of iron are you using for the suckaway (12mm or 16mm)? I mean to do the cover/slab. How many of this iron are you estimating? Also, how many bags of cement, cost of labor etc?

These are some of the woods we bought for the bungalow roofing project in Enugu and the roofing is currently ongoing. Note that the whole woods were painted with a chemical treatment substance called the solignum, you can even see the blackish stains on the woods.

The 2x4'' rafter wood, also painted.

The car park, can you see the way we casted the entrance floor to allow the car the landlord will buy to drive into the house as soon as he comes back grin grin, some contractors will not even remember to do this, but we cannot overlook such small details.
