Nigeria continued it inglorious decline on the International Federation of Association Football's (FIFA) monthly ranking released on Wednesday, falling one step downwards to 57.

The Super Eagles are currently ranked 9th in Africa, behind Ivory Coast, which retained the top spot; Ghana; Algeria; Zambia; Mali, Gabon; Libya and Tunisia.

for real, u are correct, i dont know why we are still so high, we are a football loving nation, no more a football playing nation, we suck so bad at it, that i wonder how we were ever good in the first place

I guess FIFA should try ranking football loving/watching (through viewing centers) nation then Nigeria will be 1st in africa nd possibly first 5 in d world.

the last time I checked, Nigeria hadn't a football team. i wonder if there are 2 Nigerias on world map. is this supposed to be a typo? perhaps they mean Niger Rep.  grin grin grin grin grin

Are the rankings reliable? Haven't checked the latest one, but last time I checked, England are number 5 in the WORLD.

Common FIFA ranking? You can't even take the highest position. In corruption, we are leading. In poverty, we are leading. In steallin of public fund, we are the highest why can't we be the highest in FIFA, i was thinking we will be like 700 in the world and 200 in Africa,
