the most annoying aspect is when she will be pinging only for her to pop up a silly question : "please can you come again?"

It's not all women. It depends on if she's an introvert or an extrovert. This equally applies to men too.
Re: Personal Observation: Many Women Suck At Starting And/or Maintaining Conversatio by queensmith: 11:46am On Mar 12, 2012
working on the assumption that men can start or hold an intelligent conversation? esp the Nigerian ones? Well done. Keep telling yourself that it may come true.
One can't even old a decent argument on Nairaland without the men sulking through their balls! kmt

I can’t say about Nigerian women, but women in general that I have come across in Europe do not want a boring man / guy as a boyfriend… that’s why most of them would like to see how well you could communicate with them, not your vocabulary but just to keep them interested.
Re: Personal Observation: Many Women Suck At Starting And/or Maintaining Conversatio by maxxy: 12:18pm On Mar 12, 2012
I will take what OP means to be conversations that are intellectually stimulating and beneficial, not the usual stories or gossips of whats going on with so and so person.

Very few ladies read the papers, use the net for research and stuff like that. And if they have a blackberry they mostly ping with it! Imagine starting professional conversations like latest IFRS standards, IT, world politics and finance, etc... they just go dumb. But start one on fashion... you know the rest!

I have met some rather interesting ladies though and we are friends for life.

OP i will say it depends on what you discuss with them. I met a lady who wanted to just talk about herself her ambition and her dreams I just let her talk on and we had had a long and interesting conversation. A lot of guys try to impress women with their talk instead of actually conversing with them

Possibly it could be that the women you strike a conversation with do not share common interest with you, or think they need to maintain a certain decorum as potential partners, else .. why should a healthy lively conversation not be made.

Exactly, it's the same for all women don't mind them. Who wants to be with a dumb man that doesnt talk?

I'm going to be nice to you, how has the OP proved he's talking about intellectually stimulating conversations? What has he said to prove he's an intellectually stimulating human being? How have you concluded his logic contains any depth whatsoever?

As to your second statement, I assume your talking about the female skanks of lagos that have no right stepping foot in universities. Just because you exposed to a limited number of uneducated prostitutes doesnt mean women do not read. Politics and Finance isn't every mans interest, neither is celebrity news and OK magazing every womans.
You reading a few reports and trends doesnt make you intelligent. Just though I'd add that so you know!

Agreed, but those may be her interests, no harm in fashion topics, So if you strike up a conversation on what she has no clue on i think its best if she kept quiet or change the subject if she is still interested in speaking with you, becuase i find it very amusing when people just rush in on topics that they have little or no knowlegde about and speak about it as though they were an authority on the subject.

when we keep quiet or talk less-dey complain we r too boring

I know you were not referring to only Nigerian girls but am using Nigerian giirls as a case study

He aired his opinion and sought yours why not just give it and relax?
Meanwhile running ur mouth uncontrollably like a waterfall isn't always conversation, i think the OP meant sensible and directional discussions.

really good point! but some of the stuff maxxy pointed are actually things more ladies should consider trying to do every now and then.

If some one is cagey or not forth coming in an online conversation, it is most likely because that person is not being 100% truthful and is hiding something. There are too many liars on the internet.

@ Poster, i would say its a 50/50 thing, because you still find men that cannot hold a good conversation. But as for me i can start, maintain and end a conversation without escalation, though not a talkative.. cheesy

This is really why i broke up with several girls they lack communication and they can't maintain it , i hate to hear the word ''meaning'' , their communication skill is zero , i just get pissed off and tell them i can't continue any longer , maybe because the way i brought myself up, look into your eyes and talk the talk with sense. .
