Looking at the events of things in Nigeria from 1960 to date, it is one to be worried about; in fact, it’s as if we are yet to obtain independence because everything is in a state of shambles. So my question now is: haven tried several male presidents and vice presidents, who failed woefully and are still failing with their numerous unfilled promises of good governance and dividends of democracy, can it be that a female president is what Nigeria needs to break away from corrupt leadership and maybe start to enjoy good governance? Please let's hear your say on this. Thank you fellow patriotic Nigerians.

Nigerians in general need re-orientation. Doesn't have to do with gender.

CAPITAL NO! We are not ripe for such. The men are still struggling under the dictates of their wives and bringing the wives to the fore will be a big disaster.

Right on point!

Is it a hereditary trait of a woman to shun corruption? All those past presidents have wives, what do you think their wives was telling them?

Merit is the key factor and not being male or female.

Any woman that comes out to say that she should be voted because she is a woman is a looser.

I am very indifferent about this!. Reasons-Good governance has nothing to do with gender using example of countries like Argentina, Liberia, Defunct Russia kingdom under Czarinna Catherine the great etc, we cannot say only the men can provide good governance. Secondly, using our current situation to judge I will strongly oppose the idea of using a woman as the president because the resilience which men naturally have doesn't exist within the female folks(arguably). Lastly, male or female, I'll accept a messiah in any fold. NB:This is my opinion.

Blackteeth: When will Nigerians know that a single person cannot save this nation.

Thank you. Nigerians are waiting for a messiah to drag them kicking and screaming into the 21st century while insisting to live primitively. The only way this country can move forward is if the number of people prepared to do what is right exceeds the number of sinners. Democracy is a game of numbers so what can one man do. When we get tired of the wages of sin change will come. As long as we enjoy sin, change will never come. Just raise a case of corruption on this forum and it degenerates to arguments. We don't even agree as to what good governance means. So what does gender matters offer but escapism and ostrich like behaviour.

Biko add this SEC woman join...na the latest be dat.If abike dabiri were to be nominated for vice presidency,i wont mind sha.Whether MAN or WOMAN or HERMAPHRODITE...there is a BIG problem with governance in Africa, most especially Oil producing african countries, especially Nigeria. The problem is much more centered on the POLITICAL PARTY board members and "stake holders".They call the shots,to the detriment of Nigerians as a whole. If we "take care" wink wink winkof all those party sponsors and money bags and the OLD politicians at the helms of affairs of every political parties in Nigeria, our lot will improve for better. After all, what is Benefit does any Nigerian enjoys from our government? NADA!

Nigeria, just like US is big for a woman for now. Maybe later.
Imagine a woman having to endure what boko haram is doing now. She would have probably resigned.
