Nigeria is the most heavily populated and one of the most economically developed nations on the African Continent. However, advanced development is significantly localized around two areas: Lagos Island and Abuja. Beyond these two economic centres, development is marginal and poverty is still prevalent despite government efforts. Consequently the vast majority of Nigerians are desperately poor. However, key marginal areas have experienced rapid growth recently.

The tallest building currently under construction is 'Intercontinental Lagos' on Lagos Island, at 100 m (328 ft) tall. This new development will be the tallest built in Nigeria in the 2000s. Many other construction projects are currently ongoing such as the Eko Atlantic City, a massive redevelopment of the Lagos Waterfront which will include an entirely new sustainable city off the coast of Nigeria. This new development will be equipped with residential neighborhoods, commercial areas, parks, a financial district, condo towers and also massive skyscrapers. The tallest building could potentially be over 250 meters tall, though its height has not yet been announced. Once completed, this development will forever change the way the world views Nigeria.

I thought the Union Bank Building in Marina was the tallest building. And by the way which NITEL Building are you referring to, the old NETCOM building in Marina?? A bit confused here. The building pictured here looks rather short. Am counting not more that twenty floors here.
