Dear sir,
We know you are one of the few men with integrity and of great influence in this country Nigeria but please for the greater good and interest of peace we would appreciate if you tow the path honour as your brother in faith Gen. Babangida did by leaving politics and became an elder statesman.
Respectfully sir,you have attained the age of "politcal menopause" and we need the people who falls within the age brackets of youths to to be in the helm of affairs in this country. No doubt you have been very resilient in your struggle to hold back the baton of leadership, but for how long will you continue this race? Remember you started this stuggle with Obasanjo in 1999 through 2007,you continued with the Late president and now with the current president Goodluck Jonathan,do you want to be the Abraham Lincoln of Nigeria? I believe age is no longer on your side.
Consequently,as a highly influenced and respected leader in the north,we advise you use your influence on those people who are making this country unsafe for us all, afterall we recorded massive increase of attacks from boko haram after you publicly wept on national televion saying "Nigerians do not know good"which triggered the current situation we are facing from boko haram.
Furthermore, ever since this menace started,we have no seen or read on the papers where you or any other norther leader publicly condemned these acts. If you truly love this country as you claim please talk some sense to your followers because we know that would be in your manifesto as the front burner, you can still do it while you leave politics for good.
Thank you very much your excellency.

The same you people said during 2011 election. What has your young man GEJ done?
Nothing but
1. Powerful Cabal
2. Corruption in the name of SUBSIDY
3. PDP owned BOKO HARAM
4. Bombing and killing of innocent youths etc

Why not we allow the best hands rule the country and leave bitterness and nepotism.

In-fact @Poser you are totally wrong with this age thing you bring into governance.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA

zoning is a pdp policy, not anywhere in the nigeria constiution that anyone from any region cant vote or be voted for so far he/she meets the needed criteria

Let all these nonsense about zoning stop.
What we want is someone - man or woman who has got the necessary leadership skils to govern this nation.
Unfortunately such a person might not occur, because some people are just to wicked for this country to progress.
All those people mentioned have been in position of authority in the past. My question to them is, when they had the opportunity to govern, what exactly is their achievement?

Sir, please permit me to disabuse your mind. Age should not be prerequisite in choosing the most credible and competent person to rule Nigeria. Nigeria is in distress and in dire need of human messiah. Buhari may not be the person but if he has been tested and proven to be most credible for the job in Nigeria then why being sentimental about his age. Adolphe Thiers and Paul Doumer were 74 years respectively when they became president of France. Jules Grévy was 71years and left office as the president of France @ age 80. So age is just a number. Provided as a president you surround yourself with not mediocres but technocrats and intelligent patriots you will sure make uncommon impacts. It is time we buried our political, tribal, religious and gender sentiments and allowed objective reasonings to guide our actions in the Nigerian polity if we are to attain any height of global reckoning in human and infrastructural development.

Let the best person do the job.

Long live Nigeria

The person that posted this is just DAFT, UNINFORMED and BIAS. You make unsubstantial accusations and insinuations while we are being Governed by a clueless President. You talk about the age of the US President. Please, We had as much Hope in Jonathan as Americans had in Obama. Obama is performing against all Odds. Jonathan is being crippled by Boko Haram,Flimsy excuses(Boko haram has infiltrated my Govt),Name calling(Cabal). If Jonthan is our answer to the Youths being in Power. I guess we should leave things to Older hands and consider internship before taking over. Afterall, We are Africans, not Americans. @post, who among the youth can save us from this rotten country? I stil believe nigeria requires strong and dedicated leader and not the gutless+clueless+ballless figure+head you have as president.

Socratez20: hmmn wah we need is nt age, color, tribe, qualifications or heart inspirin speeches bt a Presidnt u wl lead ds country wv d fear of God, someone who wl b a litle bit dictorial n ready to bulldoze corruptn without compromise

Unfortunately, Buhari is not that President that will lead this country.

Em.., did you say a little bit dictatorial? Well, this is democracy dear. We are talking about the rule of law here.
It was Buhari (and his team) with his dictatorship that led this country several years back.
The military thought Nigerians that you can break the law and cover it with decrees.

Em.., some are saying age is not an issue?

Well, Gowon was a 29 years old boy when he became the head of state. A little boy who could not even use his head well enough to manage his own affairs was tasked with heading the state. The result is the for all to see.

Age is not a problem?

16 year old who just passed Jamb can rule Nigeria as well as 90 year old who is struggling to recognize his grand children.
It is pathetic how people come here and give reasons that will make my 5 year old daughter shed tears just because they want Buhari at all cost.

We are still growing, else it would be proper to set up panel of enquiries into what led soldiers entrusted with our security to turn against the state in the name of a coup. For using gun to shoot his way to the seat of power, Buhari is no different from armed criminals. His proper place and not only hhim, is the gallows.

Come 2015, if Buhahri is the best of those that will contest, I will simply keep my vote.

What is buhari coming to do?

Recoup his money spent over the years in a fruitless effort to rule again?

Correct his silly mistakes during his military regime like the cancellation of the lagos rail project?

Rule us with "Iron hand" which means disregarding court injunctions and crating opponent?

Recompense the north for............wasting the opportunity they had while in power?

For him to start talks with Tinubu shows that he realize that he can never win election with northern Muslims vote only, and thats admitting he lost the last election. And if thats the case, then he need to first apologize to all those that lost their love ones in the post election violence he instigated by false-fully claiming he was rigged out when he knew there is never a way any one can win a general election without a national spread.

If there is zoning in PDP, the other political parties don't zone. So with this we can think of the likes of Fashola, Adams, Orji and other vigilant people.

Buhari Instigated the almajeris to kill innocent corpers.

As for the Oputa panel, no honest and reasonable person will run away from any law however mundane it is. Unfortunately for General Buhari he refused to appear before the Justice Oputa panel which was just a fact finding committee headed by an eminent jurist like Justice Oputa. If General Buhari is clean and honest why did he run away from the Oputa panel?

Buhari put in place a retroactive law that killed three men, innocent men in my book, by public execution.

He jailed Ndukar Irabor and Tunde Thompson of the Guardian on stories that were factually true under Decree 4. He had told the Nigerian journalists then that it did not matter whether the story reported was true or not, if his regime did not like it, the writer would go to jail.

Ikemba Emeka Ojukwu, another Igboman who returned from 13years exile just a little over a year then was as well locked up in Kiri Kiri Prison by meanhearted Buhari.Up till today we are not told what was Emeka’s offence.

Busari Adelakun died of ulcer because Buhari refused him to be taken out of prison for immediate medical attention. The then Governor of Ogun State,Bisi Onabanjo suffered similar fate which we were told led to his untimely death.

Buhari’s henchman and sponsor, CPC governorship candidate for Kano State, is Mohammed Abacha, the same person that had/ran a personal killing squad, co ordinated the killing of Kudirat Abiola & attempted to kill Ibru; and also stashed money in underground tanks, all less than 13 years ago….Nigerians have very short selective memory. Shame!

Buhari ransacked the house of the late Obafemi Awolowo and confisticated his International passport. Which civilized democratic society would elect the likes of Buhari as President, the same individual who overthrew an elected President? Never!

Buhari supervised the smuggling of 53 suitcases filled with cash through the Murtala Mohammed International Airport against the protests of General Tunde Idiagbon and ironically, Abubakar Atiku, the then Director General of the Customs who later became the Vice President and a compromised politician himself. This smuggling of the suit cases were supervised by his ADC, Col. Mustapha Jokolo.
