Nigerian celebrities love telling lies, because of their insecure backgrounds. Only few of them in the music, movie and fashion industries can even afford a good house or a good car. Majority of them live in the ghettos and drive second hand cars and used jeeps. They make only thousands of naira and claim millions in the media, but they cannot even afford to rent a good flat. The loudest Nigerian celebrity who begged Seun to put this topic https://www.nairaland.com/newpost?topic=13035 on the homepage some years ago even now lies that she never did so. But thank God for good records. You wonder why some of them have to smuggle hard drugs or love-vendor to make ends meet and later lie to the ignorant public that they make millions from their acting, singing and gossiping? All they have to do is grease the palms of hungry reporters to report their lies in the tabloids and a celebrity is born! Like the celebrity bloggers in Nigeria, the loudest is actually the poorest. The richest Nigerian celebrity bloggers all have their dotcoms and nor cheap and free subdomains on . Bella Naija has dotcom, Teju Cole has dotcom, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has dotcom, Ekenyerengozi Michael Chima has dotcom and the first Nigerian blogger to pay for a half page advert for his blog in a major Nigerian daily newspaper (The Guardian) which does not come cheap, and there are other Nigerian bloggers who have been interviwed on the CNN, BBC and Al Jazeera, but they don't make noise about it. In movies, majority of the so called Nollywood stars are still poor and only very few of them live in good houses and others now run restaurants and bars to make ends meet. In music, only few are rich. Without live concerts and endorsements, many of the noisemakers will beg for a living since none of them can even sell up to one million CDs of their hip hop hits. Then in fashion, many of them are suffering and smiling. Those making waves in Nigerian fashion are not making up to one million maira a month. They do runs to catch up with the Joneses. Any celebrity that cannot boast of having up to one million dollars in cash and assets is POOR and should stop making noise and telling lies in the news and gossip media.
