My 2 choices would be:

1. www.nairaland.com (for richness of information); and

2. www.domainstandard.net (for accessibility)

I would have to say www.africamediaweb.com since I maintain the site. We just launched it but the feedback I have been getting has been quite good. To the best of my knowledge it's the only nigerian/african site that allows surfers to discuss different topics by calling in with a telephone and speaking their mind. Pretty cool.

On Access bank website, it took me close to 1 minute to load a page when I selected an option: "Lease a Car" under "I want to:" dropdown menu. I'm browsing on a T1- LAN connection, so connection speed is not an issue from my own end. This is not acceptable from an IT professional standpoint. Their is more to a website than just its looks and feel. However, the site appears to be better than several Nigerian websites I have come across.

How do you guys judge or rate a website - in terms of looks, in terms of functionalities, in terms of content or in terms of the number of visitors,

Can't judge which is better because what makes a site good for me, might not be the same that makes a web site good for you.

Check out www.ceaser-web.com

First Nigerian online map browsing site, address search, driving directions, find my nearest, spatial query etc.

Comparable to Google maps. Yahoo maps, MSN maps,

Maps is great business, if not, why is google, yahoo, microsoft etc delving into the online mapping business?

Yemmy.

There is a lot out there, and people are going to keep on posting, but I think if we don't mention www.myaboki.com it would be a big omission  shocked

With a rich community base, online music with customizeable playlist and playlist code for embedding in your blog, wesites, video clip collection, news, internal messaging system, dedicated soccer forum, blog, chat, games, job forum, I think it would be a big omission. wink
Re: Your Favorite Nigerian Website(s)? by sturvs: 9:09am On Jul 04, 2007
http://www.sturvs.com/ is my new website and im hoping it will become a popular nigerian website.

im adding new features and right now you can get real time naija news from all over the world right in your browser with the toolbar.

right now it gives you links to external resources but im working on having the external pages load right on sturvs.com so you wont have to leave the website to read nigerian news or watch videos.

please visit the site and give suggestions.

WEBSITE SUMMARY:
Sturvs is a nigerian sharing and voting website where users can read share music, videos and articles; read news and also promote events and services for FREE.
Re: Your Favorite Nigerian Website(s)? by TerraCotta(m): 4:54pm On Jul 05, 2007
Good luck to those promoting their sites, but some of the ones I've seen listed here wouldn't pass an average web design class undecided

Nigeriaworld.com is the best for news on every Nigerian sector. News is broken down by state/region/industry/sports/politics/world etc.--it's a great resource. Their only problem is that they need to take a little more time to check cross-browser/CSS compatibility.

I like abeokuta.org for the range of audio-visual content. I think the design still has a way to go (I would center the content window instead of having all that open space to the right of the screen), but their content offerings are among the best for any Naija cultural sites out there.

Nigeriavillagesquare.com
is where the intellectual heavyweights hang out, although it can degenerate into ethnic ranting every once in a while too. Some Nigerian newspapers lift essays off of NVS to publish as articles, which I think is a great compliment to the quality of the essays posted there.
