Most part of PH were originally Ikwerre villages; like rumuomasi, rumuola, rumuobiakani, rumuokoro, rumuokuta, rumuokwurushi, ogunabali, woji, choba, etc. Places like borokiri and Town (harbour road, creek road, and the old G.R.A. Area) are where ijaw, kalabari, nembe, etc settled. |

I don't understand why strangers tend to gainsay when it comes to PH history, see from former Obi wali civic centre(now silverbird) to slaugter to the west, and NPA to the east move down to Borikiri and the small islands adjoining belongs to the Okrika people, and that is what constitute the Okrika section of Port-Harcourt. This is based on the 1913 agreement signed by the Okrika chiefs, Diobu chiefs(from Ikwerre) and the white fellow called Harcourt. All this Rumu this or Rumu that are not really in Port-harcourt, 3 Likes |
