There is certainly a God. BTW, the Bible is not contradictory but complementary (like the interesting mini-stories of Taoist scripture). People sucha s yourself tend to overlook the simple fact that the Bible is an anthology of qorks that span many epochs, thousand of years. It is always wise to ponder upon the historical context of whatever part of the Bible you are reading. I have undertaken to study most casws of confliction in the Biblr and upon scrutiny I find that they don't hold up. God's existence is simple and equally espoused by other religions eg Zoroastrainism, Hinduism & Islam which also evolved from paganistic schools. All these religions from the wonders of Nature and the obviously unique place man occupies in it. I remain supremely confident that God is considering two things in humanity. One: )our acknowledgement of Him as the Creator of Nature which you are priviliged to partake of as a living person. Two: Your character towards your fellow man and yourself (IOW your morality). Realize that atheists stubbornly refuse to see these simple facts simply because of the presence of evil. But the fact remains
That evil arises feom man's inhumanity to man: A thing everyone is guilty of to a greater or lesser extent.

And how many examples exist in history and in today's world? Is it the crusades? or suicide bombings? or the Spanish inquisition? I bet if man lived without "god", we may have indeed less evil than if he lived with "god". Well, at least we have not tried that. But records (the closest we have) from the least religious countries (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, etc) show that less religion could mean more happiness in life.

It is simple: Religion causes problems, Your belief in the EXISTENCE of a God doesn't. The most important thing is to believe God exists, and strive to live a morally and ethically balanced life. Religion complicates things with the rituals and all,I choose what I believe in religious doctrine, if it doesn't make sense, I don't do it..(tithes and the rest). It makes sense to believe a God exists, on a logical level I accept that, on a spiritual level I do. It makes sense to believe in Jesus's Christ message,on a moralistic level I accept his teachings, on a spiritual level I believe in the power in his name through faith, logicians don't do faith, I am deliberately illogical in this sense. I don't bother myself with other religious crap. Getting to heaven or hell is not by believing in God alone, but by living a morally just life. So many Christians will end up in hell, where many Muslims, pagans and animists are making heaven, it is not about the religion , it is about the life you are living.

Many women atheists I have met can carry on fantastic conversations on philosophy, music, psychology or other highly specialised fields like anthropology. Quite a number of "very religious" Nigerian girls (and unfortunately guys) are often too contented with church, Nollywood, cinemas or pommes frites to give a hoot about the world.
I do sense that it's the female atheists who long to change their environment, to preach understanding to their neighbours in the light of these difficulties we face globally. For me, there is nothing more impressive that a woman who is confident, independent and absolutely sure she's as good as any man. A lot of women claim this, but we all know it's a ruse. I have to admit reading the book absolutely blew my mind! Everything in life is based on the human struggle for hierarchy, and the systems in place have only ever served to benefit the same set of people. No matter how you look at it you always end up worshipping 'the white man' one way or another.

Embracing Christianity is one of them, the book gave me the push. Face it, those of us that are christians can't give any justifiable reason for beleiving in God and Christ. We just do. We can't explain it (i can't obtain it! lol). Alot of us have just been conditioned to think praying to some deity is going to solve all our problems. It's complex and interesting no doubt.
