APGA Is Dead, Says Chime by Abagworo(m): 11:40pm On Jun 13, 2012
ENUGU – GOVERNOR Sullivan Chime of Enugu State reflecting on the current crisis in the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, the party that controls two states in the South East zone, declared Wednesday that the party was dead.

The governor made the declaration while receiving members of the South-East Zonal Working Committee, ZWC, of the Peoples Democratic Party, led by the National Vice Chairman (South-East), Col Augustine Akobundu (rtd), who paid him a visit at the Government House, Enugu.

According to him, APGA had no chance whatsoever at the forthcoming 2014 Anambra State governorship election and future elections in the country because the party no longer had a system and a succession plan, saying whatever was left of the party would finally crumble as soon as Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State relinquished power by March 17, 2014.

Chime, who expressed confidence that the PDP would be in control of the South East after the next elections, however, tasked the ZWC committee members of his party to take advantage of APGA’s extinction to win the governorship election in Anambra State in 2014 and in Imo State in 2015.

I guess the rumour of the SE wanting Biafra is greatly exaggerated, despite the big-mouths on this forum and all over the internet.

Given the chance to get close and warm themselves from the "fire" of Federal power in Nigeria, the Biafrans grabbed it with both hands rather than take the opportunity to quickly dismember their hated pseudo-country. It was a ruse all along, the objective was to lay their hands on the national, worm-infested, cake!!!

Much Ado About NothingBiafra.

^^^What is this blithering IDIO/T on about undecided? What the fuc/k has APGAs' formation and present travails got to do with Ndigbo desire to either stay or want out from Nigeria ? Can you point to anywhere in their manifesto where they said part of the objectives of the party is to work towards Nigerias' disintergration?

Thank God that ACN/CPC did not waste there time on APGA. They are "sell outs". Time for APGA members to join PDP cry cry cry

I just hope the main people in the SE are not draw by the prospect of appointments PDP is giving them because all that would end as soon as GEJ leave.

Let Rochas join CPC or ACN and let everyone in the country push for Roachas presidency regardless of zones. We need a Nigerian (i hope he is not pretending).

Obi and co can go sleep, they stood no chance. Up Roachas

That is why I refer to you guys on this forum and all over the internet as big mouths putting Nigeria down at every opportunity & shouting yourself hoarse about Biafra. You are the same ones who gave PDP 95% to 99% votes last year, and are now claiming to be in control of Nigeria. If we were to go by your Biafran side of the brain you should have divided up Nigeria by now and go off to your promised land of Biafra. Instead, you are holding on to that central "bosom" of Nigeria even more tightly with both hands - along with all the rotten milk it produces.

Most of you on this forum are bifurcated and two-faced. APGA was supposed to represent the true SE cause within Nigeria. APGA may not have advocated itself as a SE party, but that is the way you promoted it. It is deserted now because your real aim was the center, not any gone-with-history Biafra.

And don't think onlookers are deceived - this statements coming out of the woodworks about the death of APGA is really a silent proclamation of the merging of APGA with PDP so that you can advocate a SE right to the presidenty or vice-presidency through PDP in 2015 cool cool cool

And oh, what does it have to do with Biafra? - APGA was the party of your ultimate Biafran hero - u and I know who that is.

They are just too ashamed to annouce it to their members - this is really the silent merging of APGA with PDP. You will see in a couple of weeks/months that its remaining two governors, Rochas & the other one, will join PDP. It is all about acquiring even more power for the SE, even as they make are currently making a terrible mess of the center!!!

Listen diseased animal!!! Any Igbo that is disillusioned with Nigeria and all the crap that goes with it is more than welcome to voice their opinions, and if you don't like it, go jump in shark infested waters.

You expect Ndigbo to be singing kumbayah, and express their undying love for a country that has thus far benefitted us in no way? The injustice visited on Ndigbo (which still continues to this day) is well documented and has been dealt with extensively on this website; unless you just dropped in from hell, you should know the reason for our sentiments towards Nigeria- as presently constituted. The only groups of people that have no reason to want to see the status-quo changed are the ruling elite, so unless you're one of them, your foremost thoughts should rightly be about the preservation of your people in this 'jungle'. If you buy this 'one Nigeria' crap, then you're even more thick than i had imagined. The day things start being done fairly in this country -which is all Ndigbo want from Nigeria- you'd be surprised to see 'Biafra' die a natural death.

APGAs' formation had nothing to do with Ndigbo wanting the actualization of Biafra, kapish? It may have been formed as an avenue to articulate and project our views nationally: views which have thus far been drowned out in the dog-eat-dog Nigerian political environment. Any problems they face as a party today are partly as a result of Ikembas' demise and the fact that he was a strong influence on the party; a vital 'column' that held the party up. We owe nobody -least of all, your bitter pathetic self- any apologies for APGAs' formation and orientation, so quit flogging that horse.

If APGA or any of its members are strategizing for 2015, why does that give you nightmares? Is that not the same thing your man Tinubu is doing? Or you reckon Ndigbo are not good enough to field a candidate for president, but other ethnicities are? You're a hateful evil bastard, and may you get an ulcer worrying about Ndigbo and our affairs wink.

APGA died the day it joined the incompetent administration of GEJ in the name of Government of National Unity. No opposition party that has embraced such a unity government survived in the history of party politics in Nigeria. A recent example is ANPP.

Political Resurrection can only occur if the party is quickly "factionalised" by some of them. (slightly similar to what happened to AD with Bisi Akande vs Akinfenwa et al) But what is left? Okorocha, will probably decamp to PDP to pursue a futile presidential ambition? Obi is more or less a confirmed failure who labelled genuine critics Igbo haters.

there are five south east states ,APGA controlls 2 states and the most omportant states for that matter while PDd controls 2 including the least functioning , i wonder which of the two parties are dead. pot calling ketle black chime should know by not that anambra will rather burn than allow PDP to rule same with imo .those states are beyond PDP'grip he should be concerened about the fate of enugu because apga opposition in enugu have been giving him sleepless nights right from the very first day he entered office.

Ya-da-ya-da-ya-da. If they hand you the reign of Aso Rock today, you will not create Biafra and dismember the country. Like the rest you will hold on to that rotten head called FG in Nigeria like you never heard of Biafra.

It is funny you say: "The day things start being done fairly in this country -which is all Ndigbo want from Nigeria- you'd be surprised to see 'Biafra' die a natural death." I am afraid that is the problem right there - your definition of "fairness" is to label everyting in Nigeria as owned by Ndigbo. That is why I say that the above is what you will do.

And then you say: "If APGA or any of its members are strategizing for 2015, why does that give you nightmares? Is that not the same thing your man Tinubu is doing?" Again, you don't see the hypocrisy. Tinubu is not hiding anything, meanwhile APGA is trying to surreptiously dissolve into PDP to achieve that ONE AIM. Pretentious, that's all.

I am not worried about what Ndigbo wants or not, I just don't want the big-mouths on the internet to pretend that all they are interested in is Biafra, whereas their eyes are really set on something else, like everybody else.

Onye na agu, ya na atughari uche! -when one reads, one must always reflect! cool

Join me to ANALYZE these words:

This clearly indicates that this Chime guy is afraid of APGA somehow, because there is absolutely no connection between the two events -receiving PDP SE working committee and the so called "APGA demise or extinction". BTW he only recognized Peter Obi as the only pillar of APGA and completely ignored Rochas Okorocha. The last time we checked Rochas is still alive. Even if he plans to decamp to PDP, it hasn't happened yet, and PDP will still have angry and seriously progressive Igbo voters to confront in the next elections.

When we mount a sustained campaign against PDP in SE for their countless FAILURES to us - failure to give us second Niger brigde, failure to give a world class international airport, failure to give us reasonable federal projects, and so many other countless failures, some of which were ameliorated by the APGA governors we have in Anambra and Imo, then let us see how they will be able to get away with next rigging. For all I know, the next rebellion that may start in SE may first focus on PDP thieves in Igboland. If PDP thieves think they will be allowed to disorganize APGA and take over in SE, they have another thinking coming!

I would also not be absolutely sure that APGA cannot die. Anything is possible with APGA now that Ojukwu is dead and current leadership of APGA is not serious.
What I also guess is that another APGA like party will likely rise in its ashes, one that may be more aggressive with its agenda. So, PDP should stop boasting as the fight is only beginning. The only time PDP can sleep well in Igboland is after we have ALL FEDERAL projects due to us and they must be equal or better than what obtains in the North and other areas of Nigeria, else, they will not sleep one bit in Igboland.
Thieves cannot rule us in Igboland. We chased them out of Anambra before. We will chase them out again. Let them stay out until they develop the spirit of responsibility and accountability.

Mr Chime, please, tell us what is happening to Enugu International airport, after being governor since 2007.

Why are you talking about APGA and not the development of Enugu Airport, or world class facilities?

Did you see the list of the plane victims? While Fashola and co were going to see the wreckage you were busy sipping tea with one quack Colonel that is representing who?

I guess you are happy with your PDP brother called Theo Orji, and his REMARKABLE performance in Abia STate?

Though APGA is dyin in Anambra. Thanks to the poor performance of Agulu Progressive Union led by Peter Obi and Victor Umeh. But I don't evisage PDP cashin in on the on the openin, except they can successfully convince Ngige to stay on the sideline. None of their candidate(be it Andy Uba or Soludo) can be able to beat Ngige in a head-to-head match in Anambra.

On the other hand, the case of Imo wz greatly exaggerated.
I think that Rochas is still relatively popular.

PDP should be worried about Ebonyi and Abia. Especially Abia which is ripe for Imo-styled revolution.

yeah maybe they should pratic ACN/yoruba style imposition of candidates on the masses and rigging .

ABEOKUTA—Hell was almost let loose yesterday in Abeokuta, following threats by youths of the state Chapter of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, to protest against Governor Ibikunle Amosun’s alleged imposition of chairmanship candidates for the forthcoming council polls.

Vanguard gathered that, some of the party leaders in the state, especially those loyal to Amosun immediately went into hiding to evade brutality from the aggrieved members.

It was gathered that the leaders of the party, having gone into hiding, allegedly convinced the governor to order the Police Commissioner to protect the lives of the party leaders who reportedly claimed that their lives were in danger.

Policemen were drafted to the headquarters of the party on Abiola Way, to stall the planned protest by the aggrieved party members.
